I see what you mean. Very nifty. when my apps downloaded things went sour with my phone so I never saw any screen that explained the changes in the new versions. Thanks for pointing it out :-)

Neets: I went to the market and it down loaded the new version. I don't see anything different than I had before. I wonder if the theme I have it's overriding it some how.

In Launcher Pro 0.8.3
Change the Transition effect
Under

Settings
Homescreen Settings
Transition effect

Options are
- Scale
- Rotate
- Flip
- Cube

They're super cool :)

Edit: I was wondering if I should wipe the Dalvik Cache in CWM. Seems like most people recommend it after/before flashing a new rom, and it is only a cache so its safe(doesn't remove apps etc etc) right? I've only had a few apps force close but I thought it could be to do with the dalvik cache.

Yes, when you reboot it'll take a little bit while it recreates the cache. If you've got TB, there's an option in there: Clean up the Dalvik cache. It's under Menu | More.

Has anyone tried establishing a Bluetooth DUN connection using this phone?

I'm using *99# as the dialup number, and no user/pass - This is info lifted from guides I've seen elsewhere on Geekzone. No luck as yet.

Does anyone have any pointers?

Hi there, I've not tried, but did a quick search on the Internet. Had you come across this? Which may not be very helpful if you're not Vodafone. Maybe a post on the general Android or teleco thread. Looks like the link I provided was updated by John i.e. the John from Vodafone that often responds to Vodafone related questions.

Thanks Neets - Yes, that is what I had tried, to no avail.

I've tried the same method on my old nokia, and it works fine.

Seems like an Android or i9000 issue, so I may have to stick with usb tethering.

I flashed a new beta rom today. Did all the factory reset and wipes. Now on JP3. Will test the battery life tonight. Oh and because I had a wipe rom I restored with TB ;-)

I can't seem to create a scrollable wallpaper. Image stays the same on all screens. Did 2.2.1 remove this feature? See attached image.

Also after flashing my first rom (CriskeloMOD-XXJPY ROM) + the JPA modem, my phone is fast, but my battery seems to discharge quicker. Need to test it out properly though. Also still experiencing loss of complete signal in full coverage areas, with the phone needing a reboot to get it working again. Cut out twice when I was in Auckland at BDO.

What launcher are you using? Is there a setting in there that allows for scrollable wallpaper?
Sounds like your modem isn't suitable for NZ. I'm not familiar with the rom you've flashed. Is there any other modems you can flash? I'm using JPY and I've never had a problem.

i was randomly getting this wallpaper problem after going to 2.2.1 also. after flashing darky's rom i had 2 launchers and a launcher selector (ADWlauncher or modified Touchwiz) and swapping between the two seemed to "fix" the windowframe from the rectangle in your screenshot, to the correct sized one. i couldnt tell you what happened, it just seemed stuck with the wrong sized frame, then after switching bck and forth to the other launcher and trying to reset the wallpapers, it fixed itself??? i read somewher that this may be a bug somewhere with the default box ratio somewhere. dunno. try installing a different launcher and play around with the set-wallpaper option in both of them

as for BDO i was surprised to have full signal and data on xt all day, facebook etc worked as normal, txts surprisingly on time, everywhere from boiiler room to drinking cage to top of grandstands... im surprised the JPA modem let you down, cus im using the same.. maybe somehow its something to do with the criskelo rom but i couldnt think how/why

ps: rammstein was the craziest stage show i ever seen. tool was too mellow... and MIA i thought was 90% strangled electronic rubbish and ppl were only in there to get out of the rain... how was your day :)
