i always use lift to wake with face recognition on my my note 8 and never any problems very quick also had fingerprint reader on. in AOD settings put display mode in tap to show as when used show always used lots of battery possibly different on note 10 will try but i reckon show always maybe used 30% more battery big difference.
I find it isn' very good if wearing glasses, but using iris scanning too, and it often has difficulty through the glasses. Face recognition by itself is not very secure as a photo can be used to unlock the phone.
AOD by tapping is what I do, but it has quaick a bit of lag, 1-2-3 seconds lag, compared to my ipad when tapping to wake the screen. But it is a bit of a waste of time, as on an ipad, tap to display, will display the normal unlock screen. I wish the samsungs had this option, I haven't come across away to do it.
I did know that face recognition was not very secure(never any problem for me wearing glasses) and photo could unlock, and needed to use on my note 8 as could never get iris scanning to work and my fingerprint scanner was packing up always getting time out too many tries so used face unlock as just so much quicker. Now on note 10 have changed AOD to show always which i actually prefer and hopefully not big battery drain as before and when i lift to wake can just scan fingerprint on AOD Fingerprint scanner and into phone instantly so with this don't need face unlock.
I found out that goodlock app doesn't have routines app anymore and this is now called bixby routines on the phone and it actually works far better now.I it use to turn off wifi when leave home and back on when get home and previously just used to disconnect from home wifi and leave wifi still running, now it actually turns all wifi off which is preferable.
