If you go here: Sammobile latest firmware for SM-N986B

It shows you the different regions and the latest version of firmware they are on.  I only assume it corresponds to an OTA update....not sure.

NZ is quite far down the list.  I have actually given up on waiting for an update from Skinny.  You can compare the version you are running with the latest shown against NZ to determine whether it's just you missing out.

I use frija to get the latest - all you need to do is indicate your model number and the region you're interested in.

I am pretty relaxed about the region - currently working perfectly on the UK firmware - had it on Germany before that.

Download the zip using Frija, unzip to a folder, then use Odin to flash.

But that's just me being impatient.  One day it might bite me in the arse...but so far so good.

So, once you update manually, you are manual from that point onward? No more OTA updates?

I updated manually in early Jan and no updates available since then.

I am anxious about the manual updates now, as the last one wiped my phone being 99% sure I unticked the userdata option.

Hi all, got myself thr Note Ultra a few months ago and love it. What I don't love is thr case I got. After a few weeks it started to look a bit worse for wear and doesn't really show this lovely phone off. Can I ask what cases people are using?

Also what screen protectors? A few weeks after getting mine the default screen protector came off at one side.

Batman: Anyone with note 20 ultra on skinny / spark?

Yep I've been having issues, in fact, I and to turn VoLTE off last night. It works great, calls do seem to be higher quality and I can use 4g while on a call, but so many issues with the other the person on the other end of a phone call not being able to hear me after a few minutes of a phone call.

Sometimes they can't hear me for about 10 seconds and then it comes right, sometimes it's fine for 10 mins then they can't hear me ever again and I have to hang up and call again.

Note 20 ultra on spark.

What about you?

For those humans that got the bundle deal through pb tech that included the ue hyperboom. If you didn't end up using this i am looking for a second. I have started to get into old school dubstep so i need some decent bassy speakers.

I am going to have another go at flashing with the latest firmware using Odin. Last time, I thought I followed the instructions as I was supposed to, however, it wiped my phone clean like a factory reset which was extremely inconvenient. Very keen to avoid. So, as a sanity check, in ODIN it should be:

BL : the only file starting with BL

AP : the only file starting with AP

CP : the only file starting with CP

CSC : the HOME_CSC file not the CSC_OMC file, correct?

Under options only select Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time?

I have a backup, anything else I need to do? I feel a little silly, I literally used to flash phones every week many years ago.

Yep - that's exactly how I do it.  Did it yesterday for the latest German version and it worked fine.  Can't tell what's changed...but will keep an eye out for Sakitech or someone to do a video.

Done. Had a heart stopping moment when the load failed and my phone Blue Screened. Couldn't get it started. Just closed Odin and redid the whole thing again, took the second time, updated and no data loss I can detect. Relieved am I!

How is everybody's Note 20 Ultra holding up so far? Any performance or battery issues because of Exynos? Any blurry images from camera?

I'm torn between Note 20 Ultra and S21 Ultra - they're both similar pricing with education discount.

VoLTE doesn't work on Spark/Skinny, otherwise all good. No. No.

Does anyone know IF or how much it would cost to get a new factory screen protector fitted by Samsung? Mine is looking tatty, and my experience with aftermarket ones is worse than the factory fitted one.

Answer is Yes. You must go to the Samsung Service Center in Albany, book first. Cost $50. Done while you wait allow (30-60 minutes).

Anyone know if it's possible when using Samsung built in Calendar to be able to defer reminders for more than 1 hour?
