So, I've had my note 7 a week now. My review in 1 word... Meh!
It's not bad, but it's not a big upgrade over my note 5 either. Maybe my note 5 was coping fine with what I did, but my Note 7 doesn't feel any faster. The camera on my N5 was fine, same with N7.
The screen is good, but I had no issues with my N5 screen either...
I am trying to find something about it that I've noticed is significantly better than my N5, and so far I can't.
How did your N5 go under water?

I know it's strange, but I don't take my phone swimming with me!
Also I bought the wireless charger (samsung) and it' charges about 2/3 the speed of the cable.

Got a snap chat the other day from a mate, was going down the water slide with his 2 year old son. Was able to video the ride all the way down and into the water. Was a pretty cool video to watch.

Yeah that sounds great. Hardly $1600 worth though :)

i see mine as more of a 'drop it in the toilet/sink' saviour rather than a 'waterslide/diving' option.

Eh, paid considerably less than that, enough so that I only had to pay about $350 from my own pocket after selling my Note 5.
for those with bootloop issues, it seems like you aren't the only ones: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-7/help/note-7-repeated-restart-bootloop-issues-t3444510
I tried the Note 7 out in the shop. It's definitely desirable over my aging Note 3. It's a very nice device. The camera itself makes the upgrade worthwhile for me and everything else is a bonus. I was concerned about the edge vs bezel but handling the phone, it doesn't seem to be an issue.
I go to Hong Kong in a few weeks. I can see if I can get the Note 7 cheaper there. I guess then I just risk lacking a warranty - anyone know if Samsung warranty is international?
Been using the Note 7 for a few days, the performance is pretty bad at times, and that's after dropping the resolution down to 1080p and turning the animations down.
Very nice device otherwise, but the frequent significant lagginess is really offputting.
Iris scanning is too fiddly to be useful, the edge menu is relatively useless, the screen is really nice, the audio quality over headphones doesn't sound right at all, might just need some settings tweaked.
The screen-off notes is really handy. Can't seem to get them to pin to the lockscreen, but I may have misinterpreted how that works.
The blue light filter is very nice.
Google Quick Search box seems to be hammering the CPU, need to work out how to shut that off. (Edit: Settings\Applications\Default Applications\Device Assistance App\ - Change from Google to None, disables the home button long-press and seems to make Google a little bit less CPU hungry.)
Enabling GPU acceleration in the developer settings seems to make the UI a little bit less laggy, might just be placebo.

So if you pin it, and then double-tap on the "pinned" icon on the always-on display, then it'll show the note. Not super-intuitive, but I may just be being thick.
That feature is super useful instead of wandering back and forth with postits or taking photos of MAC address and serial numbers!
