Possibly off topic but does anyone know what is happening with the Samsung S21 supplies with Spark? in the Spark store it says the wait is 4-8 weeks - is that the same for Vodafone and 2 degrees?

Recently picked up the Note 20 Ultra 5G and seeing a weird intermittent/random network drop problem when the phone tries to swap over from using 4G to 5G in Auckland CBD - anyone else seen this and know of a fix?

EDIT: Should've specified that this was on Spark.

Anyone had luck with an aftermarket screen protector on their Ultra 5G model? My factory one lasted quite a long time, and Samsung have tried to twice refit a replacement and both times lifted within hours.

Yeah I've been using the Zagg invisibleShield screen protector which has some self healing sorcery for light scratches which works pretty well. Goes in the same pocket as my keys and the SP has no visible scratches. Had on since the phone launched.

When you say Samsung have tried to refit twice, where would this be? The Service Center in Albany?

I too loved my original one. I  have replaced mine with the Zagg one from one of the Samsung Studios and it's been the best one I've tried so far. I have no idea if they have them anymore for the Note20 but they definitely do for the S21 Range.

I work in downtown AKL.  My office wifi seems to block all sorts of notifications - so I turn wifi off.  It automatically jumps to 5G.  I guess as I am stationary (except when I leave to go home), it doesn't jump between 4G & 5G so I haven't noticed anything odd.

I am with Skinny.  What symptoms are you seeing?

Hey BryanG, thanks for the reply.

For some reason it's rare to have a consistent 5G connection at my work, so I'll see it flipflop between often. The more peculiar/annoying part is the random occurence where when connecting to 5G, the entire network disconnects (Stop sign rather than 4G/5G). It reconnects soon after, but it's more the fustration of being potentially screwed.

As a side note, when only using the 4G connection, this doesn't seem to be an issue. Ever since disabling 5G I haven't had an issue, but am missing the faster speeds.

Our Note20 Ultra (4G) that we bought new in Aug 2020 from PB Tech still has never received a single update and I did a complete factory reset today and still nothing happens and just says 'your software is up to date'.  Android 10, One UI 2.5

Can anyone please find a firmware file (or suitable alternative?) for my Note20 Ultra-4G (Skinny), SM-N985F, with CSC code: NZC, or is it best just to return it to shop?

Using Sammobile and Frija and a few other firmware sites do not show any firmware for this model!

In Frija I also searched for CSC Code: TNZ (which is Telecom?) nothing. Though Frija did find one file for CSC code: VNZ, but I don't want to use the Vodafone firmware right?

Otherwise I guess need to take it back to PB Tech, very strange have never experienced this sort of issue before on any of our other smartphones :(

Thanks

Search XNZ... Alternatively visit a Samsung Studio and they can flash it for you really quickly.

Thanks for the quick reply. What is XNZ, Frija did find a file, it shows different PDA/Baseband versions to what my phone shows, does that matter?

Unbranded NZ. Will work perfectly fine.

One thing that wont work when you flash TNZ software over onto an NZC phone is voLTE. Apparently this is a Samsung thing rather than Telco specific and wont work until they sort it out.

FYI: I have now manually installed the XNC firmware and the phone is now on Android 11, UI 3.1, April 2021 Security patch, hooray!!

Hopefully it will start to find future OTA updates.

Thanks all 👍
