Rmani:

I used their trade-in process for my wife's Z Flip5.

After you place an order for the new phone, Samsung trade-in partner will send you an email with a link that takes you to the trade-in website.

You don't get a return courier bag but you can generate a free courier post package label from the trade-in website to stick on the package containing your old phone.

Hope that helps

I did everything as mentioned. It's annoying that the NZ Post tracking shows the item as delivered. Whereas the trade-in site hasn't been updated. Raised a complaint few days back and still haven't got any response.

Last time I did trade-in with S23 ultra, they never confirmed. I checked with Samsung Kiosk in Albany and they said as long as you don't hear anything back, things should be good. Strange.

Liking the battery life. With a lot of use today (mostly playing around with photo editing) I'm still at 66%. In the latter days of my S10 I was having to plug the charger in again around lunchtime as the battery was pretty worn out after 5 years. Obviously same with my wife's S9.

Also really appreciating the fingerprint unlock. Got used to doing this with the S10 then when I dropped and broke it just before Xmas and needed one urgently I just got the bottom of the range Samsung A05 knowing I would likely upgrade when these came out. A05 doesn't have fingerprint so had it set on face recognition which didn't work 95% of the time. So good to just be able to touch the screen to unlock it again. Just taking some getting used to the right position as it's a little higher on the screen than the S10 which had it close to the bottom. No issues with the glass screen protector, works instantly.

It's taken them ages this time to push out the first update. Usually you get an update out of the box on launch.

To be fair my S23U first update also broke a bunch of stuff including Bluetooth for over a month.

My device is working well, I don't want anything broken because they didn't take the time to test it properly.

Having an efficient software update is a double edged sword tbh.

You can see update info / changelog here: https://doc.samsungmobile.com/SM-S928B/XNZ/doc.html

^that is for the NZ S24 Ultra. Replace the 'SM-928B' with your device model if you want to check the details for other devices.

I don't want to be a party pooper but it seems like the S24U camera performance even post the software update is not as good as the S23U.

What do you guys think?

The more I read about the S24U's camera the more I am liking my old trusty S23U. I think the main difference comes in the telephoto performance.

Photo quality is so subjective, and also depends on what kind of photos you are taking.

A work colleague is pretty happy with his after the update, he thought S22U took good photos, and after the update, he reckons it's now as good as the S22U was (he didn't get S23U).

He mainly takes photos of his kids running around so fast and reliable auto focus is important for him.

Personally I don't care too much about camera performance on my S24U - didn't buy it for the camera.
