The i9000t is pretty hard to come by, when I was buying mine they said they only had 5 nationwide and they've been sold out since then. Haven't seen any at retailers.

EDIT: I'm talking about Telecom.

my brother is involved with ordering business phones through genesis (which is telecom's business end) and there is a huge wait on galaxy s for xt. There are a lot of phones that have already been ordered by business people and they have been waiting several months. Not sure how this equates to personal phone sales, however I would recommend you try to order an XT compatible i9000 from overseas.

Also I'm surprised the price hasn't droped much for this phone, I would expect it to drop in price soon, maybe in 1 month it'll be $200 cheaper.

Must be an overall shortage of I9000Ts. The mobicity site is out of stock for the 850/2100 and I wonder if they actually get their stock from Telstra directly rather than Samsung.

Folks...

This is a gigantic thread. It's quite hard to search and I doubt anyone would now read the 280 pages (and counting).

I suggest we lock this discussion and you start threads for specific discussions, perhaps adding a [Galaxy S] tag to the beginning of the subject in those new threads?

supply < demand, when i was listening to some people chatting about it there was no ETA mentioned. He was lucky to get around a dozen XT Galaxys as a favour, but that was quite some time ago.

The guy he spoke to blamed samsung for the hold up (Can't supply / manufacture enough units), but it might also have to do with getting the telcom firmware onto the galaxy.  PS. this comment is gossip/chinese whispers and may be incorrect as i don't want to get any one in trouble.

With all due respect, any difficulty in searching this thread is more to do with the deficiencies of the forum software Geekzone use; the Doc's Rom thread on XDA is 3253 pages and counting, and I never have any trouble finding information on it, or any other vBulletin-driven site for that matter.

IMO, starting individual threads only makes it harder, as there's invariably cross-over from one topic to another (GPS issues become Modem issues etc).

My 2c worth anyway. . . . .

I concur.

People with questions will have more chance of having them answered in this active thread, than a new thread that gets locked after 30 days due to lack of attention.

I also agree. Let's not fork threads for the sake of doing so. I and no doubt countless others are still reading this thread no doubt from the first post til now.

Some handset models have a very short shelf life. If we were to create subsections for different models we would end up with dozens of ghost sections after a while.

I don't remember this happening. The only popcorn thread that was locked was the one where the distributor wasn't being forthright and things started going downhill in terms of civility.

The Google Search box at the top. All Google search syntax applies.

Itr0nic: Also there has been like 3 diffrent kind of Xt sim if i have a first generation one would that have a impact on my signal on my galaxy s?

It shouldn't.
