Yea my mate says they are in the system for that date, but this can be common and beyond their control the supplier/customs can hold them back etc.  He said from experience, do not get your hopes up and he is still telling people a few weeks at least.  He knows how desperate I am for one.  So sounds like you guys are getting same info, but he said just be aware, nothing is set in concrete.

I just can't be bothered waiting for maybe's, so am biting the bullet and hopefully they have 16gb in stock tomorrow at the store I go to so I can get it and flick it on TradeMe ASAP as I know PI will have stock Friday for sure.  Will update everyone if I manage to get one, on e of the others has paid for his at PI for the Friday delivery.

It amazes me as some of the others I work with were really keen on a 32gb model and have gone and got One X instead with out contract.  So just from people I know they have lost at least 10 sales and/or contracts, so must be hundreds more people in the same boat.  All the lost revenue due to no answers, i know some of them would have waited if they at least got a real confirmed date.

Worth the risk I think. Beside you can always get your money back if you change your mind later :)
Anywhere else other than NL is good to me. I don't feel like I should trust trust NL at all now.

Update! HN wants 20% deposit for the phone and you will not get your money back. So I am getting tempted to say that 16GB + a SD 10x speed which is apparently $150 bux?? And HN CS says its great that if it does come by 20/27 but he won't guarantee it because his exp tells him that it wont come in..

How much are the SD Micro Cards? Apparently if you get a 10 Class memory card, there isn't a significant delay.. what you maybe able to do is get NL to give you the best SD Card for free to compensate the lost time waiting..

You'll get your money back if you pre ordering and you don't want it anymore before you opening up the box.
They will have to refund your money back. A consumer rights.

Hmm.. he said no refund for changing your mind? Sounds a bit strange but..it all just adds drama! I am getting sick of this whole ordeal.. do you see a significant delay by having an SD card? Because I don't have a SD card and maybe NL will give me one for free??

Consumer rights don't cover changing your mind?? Have you got a link for it? If yes - so I can go back to HN if that is the case, but I recall a board saying no refund is given if you change your mind.

Update!!

http://www.consumer.org.nz/reports/returns-and-refunds I'm pretty sure HN's policy is no refund for change of mind. I need to double check that.

Change of MindPlease choose carefully as we do not have to provide a refund if you have changed your mind about a particular purchase. NL are happy to give me the same discount i.e 20% off the 16GB.

Yeah changing your mind on a purchase that you take home would not be refunded but changing your mind on something that you still haven't had then it might be not valid. Basically if you opened it and use it then there will be no refund but if you haven't had it yet then I'm not sure.

Try ask HN and to make them firfilling on the date and if goods isn't delivered on the date specified then you can cancel your order

We should all call up NL and complain about their terrible service and demanding an ETA on our orders.
The more of us doing this is the higher success in getting through to them to take us customers seriously.
I still don't see why BrightPoint is allocating the S3 for HN and JB but without NL. May be because NL did not putting our preorders through until end of last month. Which result in 4-6 weeks delay for shipment. NL has the lowest stock level of S3 in the country even the 16GB model < 10 in Hamilton stores.
Shocking but it is the truth. JB hamilton has over 20 units on the first week (after the first hickup on the first few days of delayed) and constantly getting it. Never out of stock.Where NL could get stock of the 16GB for almost 1 month and still barely have any 16GB in stock locally. All have to be sent out from their stores all over the country and take from 5-9 working days.

I ordered a tripod and the website said that it is in stock and I went to the store and nothing there. So paid for it and was told to wait for 5-9 work days to get it. 5 days passed and I feed up with the wait and went in to ask for them to check Bond and Bond next door because they have them in stock. They then went over to bond and bond and got one tripod for me. Seriously? I called up earlier and said can you get the tripod from Bond and Bond a day before and they said no can do. And the next day I went in and got one after made a complain to their head office.

They have the stock all along but didn't want to give it to me. I asked if I can get a different one and they rejected my request and got the tripod I ordered from bond and bond the next minute. I was very disappointed.

True that! Something is not quite right here.. because why is NL not having any stock allocated is beyond me and. The guy at HN said the reason why they don't stock many units is because they make no $ out of it, apparently they have a 2% profit margin and there is no point dealing with Brightpoint because they have no interest in them, hence them not calling or following them up with BP. He was also saying the telcos deal with large quantity of order, i.e he thinks NZ is too small and they are likely to order 100 units of 32GB and BP can't be bothered with that and they don't want to ring their supplier to get an ETA.

He said exact same thing happened with iPhones 16/32GB. They never delivered on time and it took way way longer than the promised date of BP. And everyone got angry with HN and they have learnt their lesson and that is why they are not giving us a date because they are sick of dealing with customers and he wants the customers to have the best exp not argue with them every time a new phone comes out. I can see where his coming from..

NL S.Park has about 5 S3x16GB Blue in stock.
I might go in to NL and get me a 16GB Blue with a discounted price + a free Micro SD Class 10 card!? ;), knowing these dates.. I am losing my faith in the ETA's because they are ETAS.
