Arggghh. Why'd they change the SMS app layout. NOte 5 one is way better, I want my quick contacts at the top, not a pointlessly stupid search bar.

Can I remove that eye sore?

Use a third party sms tool. There are lots of them, many of them very well thought of, out in the play store.

Yeah I just doon't find them as nice or as intituitive. But looks like Samsung have forced my hand.

I don't have my note 5 to compare but I didn't notice any significant difference, everything works the way it did before ? I have a search bar not, but I never use it so it's ignored.

So can you add favorite contacts across the top? Because I can't find where to do that.

Well that's the point from my perspective, I wasn't doing that, so for me there is no change.

Right, gotya. I used that a hell of a lot so found it really handy. Why not have the option for it. Seems dumb to remove it altogether.

Firmware updates coming hard and fast for the XSA (Generic Australian) firmware. Another one just turned up, BPH6, ~160MB. No mention of anything specific it does as per usual (typical Samsung).

Notifications pulldown looks a little bit different, the "Software Update" function now has its own entry in the Settings menu and a few other items have shifted around a bit.

Samsung Cloud sync is also now completing without errors which is nice.

Because I've flashed that firmware onto my 2Degrees version so that I get updates in a more timely fashion.

Iv gone an ordered the spigen rugged armor. Despite its aparent quality in protection, it also appears to be the sleekest and sexiest case. Especially for the black onyx. Now iv never owned cases since gorilla glass got their designs down pat. I always figured, use the phone the way it was ment to be. By the time is rugged up, you would want to upgrade anyway (i never cared for resell, i passed on my phones to parents).
But GG5 does appear to be extremely flawed for scratches. Too much so that it wouldn't be too long until a f*** it scratch appeared.
The other high interest case was the fusion ringke, very low profile. But just didnt quite feel the very marginal profile shrinkage compared to the massive protection and super budonkadonk look of the rugged armor.
Iv also ordered a dbrand back decal. Just need to find a really high quality screen protector and with that i could still use my phone without the case and use the case when outdoors.

That sounds annoying, I already used screen protector on my first Note 7 then I returned that due to crashing issues, then got a 2nd Note 7 and put on dbrand skins and another screen protector. Samsung just doesn't want me to keep the phone, I would hate to need to return another phone.
