I seem to be caught in config hell.

I pretty much always have my phone on silent. I usually have it on DND from 11pm to 7am.

When I am in DND Mode, I don't get the dialler come to front of attention, and if I turn off DND, despite having my volume at 0, I still get a bunch of sounds including from apps notifying me, and keypress on the keyboard etc.

I've obviously messed something up. Any ideas?

I use Notistar to find out what notifications are bypassing any settings i've enabled, either mistakenly or by design on the app end. In terms of DND etc, I tend to use Modes and Routines for everything like that now.  Mainly because when I set my phone to DND at home, I generally want other things to happen in the house or on other devices at the same time (e.g. bedtime so turn off lights, change phone power profile and colours and zoom size given I can't wear glasses in bed, etc etc).  Sound Assistant is also great for setting per-app volumes.

Handy feature I've discovered over the last few days is using the button on the S pen as a camera remote. Wife and I have been on holiday in Queenstown so taking selfies etc and it saves having to contort your fingers and risk dropping the phone and instead just focus on holding at a comfortable angle.

Yes it's something I use often for birthdays. Great feature. Although it's been around for a couple of generations already.

I've had this happen almost every update for the last 4 months! I think I am the precursor for it.

The last big update, there was less than 60 minutes between me checking and someone posting they had it, and me checking again, and it installing!

Another tip for those new to the S Pen like me is that the button doesn't automatically work when in flight mode - but you can turn the function on manually by going to the S Pen settings whilst in flight mode and turn air actions on. Discovered this when on a tour to Milford Sound a few days ago. From Fiordland National Park to Milford Sound there is zero reception so our tour driver suggested turning your phone onto flight mode if it's also your camera, to save the battery from spending the next few hours searching for a signal when there was none.

Woo, I've joined the Ultra gang. What cases are we rocking on the S24 Ultra? Trademe is a wasteland of dropshipped stuff. PB Tech seem to have some good Spigen ones.

Going down that rabbit hole huh? Before I know it, I've now got like 8 cases for my S24U. 😁

Have the following Spigens and Ringke cases:

Spigen Core Armour - https://www.spigenstore.com.au/spigen-galaxy-s24-ultra-core-armor-2419558

Spigen Enzo Aramid - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CM4NQ6FY?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

Spigen Liquid Air - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CNFB3FFW?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

Ringke Fusion - https://www.ringkestore.com/products/galaxy-s24-ultra-case-fusion

Ringke Fusion Bold - https://www.ringkestore.com/products/galaxy-s24-ultra-case-fusion-bold

As well as a original Samsung TPU dark violet case that came free with pre-order, a "UAG" Plasma case from Ali (if you know what I mean😉) and finally a generic TPU case with matt back also from Ali.

You can't leave us hanging @mrgsm021!

Which one is the best?

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Oh the suspense😂!

So far, liking both the Enzo Aramid and Core Armor from Spigen.

I like the look of those 2. Especially that Enzo Aramid one. I'm considering the Spigen Liquid Air as it looks quite minimal.

With my order I got free Silicone case purple but very slippery not like for previous s23 ultra, then realized I bought blue color model and cant show off color of phone so bought clear case at PB tech.

Which is really solid case and happy with it or choice of soft case but preferred solid  case for more protection.
