It appears not in the web interface, but the mobile "Play Music" Android app does sound like it's gapless playback (test album: Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon).
EDIT: Tested using both the default playback method, and the HTML5 Labs method. Still a gap between songs on the web interface for both.
Crowbar: ... other than the apparent loading of the next track (which is not even noticeable if I'm not 100% focused on listening for it)
richms: How about sirius and eye in the sky from alan parsons project? Thats never worked properly for me in many players.

Can you clarify what you mean by this? If you have audibly noticed when the next track has started, doesn't this mean you've noticed some sort of gap or very small pause in the music?
nzkiwiman: Having just got a new Nexus 4, I have been looking at some of the additional Google features.
I am not a big music person - once a month (or more) I may remember to fire up the web broadcast of a local radio station and listen for 10-15 minutes before I decide I want to do something else with my headphones.
Have been having a hard time figuring out what the free service gives you as I don't feel comfortable paying for a plan at the moment. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Crowbar: This is probably obvious but are you SURE you are logged in with the same Google account?
