It appears not in the web interface, but the mobile "Play Music" Android app does sound like it's gapless playback (test album: Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon).

EDIT: Tested using both the default playback method, and the HTML5 Labs method. Still a gap between songs on the web interface for both.

I appear to get no gap (tested between Money -> Us And Them) on both the Android app and web-interface (Chrome), other than the apparent loading of the next track (which is not even noticeable if I'm not 100% focused on listening for it)

Can you clarify what you mean by this? If you have audibly noticed when the next track has started, doesn't this mean you've noticed some sort of gap or very small pause in the music?

lol... Google Play All Access doesn't appear to even have that album (Eye in the Sky), only the live version which has those two songs as one track together.

Hmmmm yeah when listening closely (and watching) it is noticeable still so not 100% gapless, this applies to both the mobile app and web interface :( However when just playing the album without focusing on the track change I don't notice it.

Just played Pink Floyd on the mobile app using headphones and I can confirm that there is actually a gap (so, not gapless playback).
I obviously wasn't picking up on the gap just using the handset speaker.

I haven't tried it after pinning the tracks rather than streaming.

Apparently re gapless playback, it's only accessible on 4.2 devices.

Having just got a new Nexus 4, I have been looking at some of the additional Google features.
I am not a big music person - once a month (or more) I may remember to fire up the web broadcast of a local radio station and listen for 10-15 minutes before I decide I want to do something else with my headphones.

Have been having a hard time figuring out what the free service gives you as I don't feel comfortable paying for a plan at the moment. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

You can store your own music in the cloud and stream it to anything that has Google play... chrome browser, android, chromecast... whatever else they invent and download your tracks to a phone, etc.
By paying, you can stream all music they have.

Can anyone tell me why when I log into my music in a new phone ALL of my music has gone? Not just the stuff I uploaded, but what I added to my library online as well?

This is probably obvious but are you SURE you are logged in with the same Google account?
