I can't remember if S23 had the Samsung online exclusive colours last year, the rumored online exclusive colours this year are green, orange and blue, it'd be interesting to see if we get any at all in NZ.

Not sure which model but there was / were exclusive colour(s). I also remember some exclusive colours came out a little later too.

Don't do it!!! Not even I'm tempted.

S23 Ultra still running strong and will be keeping mine until either it dies or something actually worth while comes out.

You are downgrading? Or did you mean S24?

This is coinciding with me needing a new phone, got my eye on an S24 Ultra. Two questions;

Any chance Samsung is running the signup and get $50/100 off in NZ? I see it in US and Aus, but can't find the NZ link.

How are Samsung with version and seccurity updates? I see they support a few years, but are the security patches regular? Some companies say 4 years, but it's never 1:1 with Google security updates and more like you'll get one security update a year way late.

Thanks!

Sign up via the website for a discount code and 1 year of Samsung Care+.

Rumours has it they will support the phone with OS and security updates for 7 years on the S24 series.

Their software updates have been amazing on the S23 series.

Nice, that's good to hear. Never thought about Samsung before, usually a One Plus / Google person. But this year I want to try to offload everything to my cell phone; laptop, music and games. And Samsung sort of hits that device that can do everything with their flagship models. Not sure though if their Global verison will work well when I travel over to the USA for business.

Also considering OnePlus 12 for its insane fast charging and 5400mAh battery, I think PB will stock it at some stage.

Google scared me off with their buggy software updates in the past and lack of full support of VoLTE/VoWiFi/5G on One NZ.

You should be fine with travelling to the US with S24U, which generally have a comprehensive 4G bands support.

Also look at EPP if you are an employee of a business. They have some smashing deals on pre-order. The S23 pricing was best on pre-order.

Cheers.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Anyone know from previous launches if the Samsung EPP tends to have a discount on the pre-order, or would it be no better than whatever the standard pre-order offer is? Coincides with needing a new phone (dropped trusty S10 before Xmas - see earlier in the thread) so keen to see where the best deal is.

EPP is best on pricing.

If you buy retail, you can perhaps get a better deal but you'd need to sell all the freebie gifts.

Although this year is slightly difficult as retail gets you a free year is Samsung Care+.

I've pretty much landed on the OnePlus 12 to get.
