NZtechfreak: Mine shipped today, turned out stock arrived sooner than anticipated, so I'll have my filthy mits on one next week (Monday I would think, Tuesday at the outside).

Regards the graphics cred of this handset - check out this vid of Nova running on the Galaxy S: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQ4N7QAlHd4

Oh yeah...

Mine did not make the first delivery of stock and is now not scheduled to ship until Monday/Tuesday in the UK :-( Would be very lucky to get it next week :-((

[DesperatePretence]Oh well I wasn't in any hurry anyway, there are more important things in life than a new phone.[/DesperatePretence]

Finally. Now really wishing I had coughed up for Fedex instead of Royal Mail.

Received this message from Clove timed at 12.30 pm Monday Southampton time:

"We are pleased to inform you that your order (Ref: CLOVE1008368B9) has been dispatched. Your order was dispatched by DHL Int Courier (1-5 Days)."

So it may be here by the weekend.

Excellent guys - will wait for several review in due course!! Wink

Would love to hear who got pinged for GST as well; still seems amazing to me that this is pretty much a craps shoot.

Surprised

Sorry my fault.  I was looking at Private imports, being English and having family still in the UK, I was looking at this option.

If purchasing in the UK for example, you should be able to buy the item without the V.A.T. added on (17.5%) and then only pay the current 12.5% GST, as VAT is only for European Countries... Unless that is what you guys do anyway?

We definitely don't pay VAT as you say, but IIRC, some people got charged GST, and other didn't, when importing handsets; I don't want to belabour the point, but it would be good to know why some don't.

Unless they where sent via friends?  Also I know that in the UK there are several companies that exist outside of the UK VAT system which send out items marked as gifts.  Generally gifts end up being free of duty on the whole... www.play.com for example does this.  Perhaps this is why?

/EDIT: Play.com was a bad example as they do not ship things like mobile phones overseas.

I didn't get taxed gst from customs when I bought a phone from Clove. I was told by other people that sometimes they charge you the gst after it arrives, but it's been about a couple of weeks already.

(couldn't find the edit button)

wanted to add that I used Airsure Tracked Mail option (£24) and that the description they wrote on the customs declaration was "hand-held computer".
