Strange.  I hardly ever reboot, maybe once every few weeks.  Sounds like you might get more issues from rebooting than not :)

I've come from Note 4 to this which is a jump but I've found that the phones are similar and despite the bells and whistles, they're not that much different.
I'm annoyed I'm finding bugs at the moment. The automatic screen off is stay on.
The automatic restart, which I have set at 3am is now affecting the alarm ring tone which is now defaulting to the ringtone alarm when it didn't use to.

Iv'e got auto restart set for once a week for which is what samsung recommends and never any problems but this morning after auto restart my alarm tone defaulted to my ringtone plus very loud so must be bug somewhere because using alarm since note 2, 5 8 and 10 never had this problem & checked alarm settings and still same tone and time set.

I've had no problems with my phone, haven't rebooted it yet.  It's only been about 3 1/2 weeks, I'm pretty sure I've gone for months between reboots with previous phones.  Normally I'll give a phone a reboot if anything isn't working as expected, just to see if that helps.

I had the weekly reboot until I relised that it stopped my alarm going.  I also have the "enter pin number after a reboot" setting on.  That means once a week it reboots and then just sits at the pin number screen.  I just turned it off and do the occasional manual reboot now.

I have a bixby routine to turn the sound off over night, but some other activity would course it to turn on. (not worked out what causes it yet)

When the sound turns on it makes a notification noise (same as when you plug the phone into a charger) - which then wakes me up and worse, wakes my wife up.

Took me ages to find out why the phone was making this sound.

Also turned off auto reboot as it was doing it daily but seemed to be at a random time rather than when I had specified - and also causing a beep noise.

Can't you just turn on the schedule for do not disturb?  Sound assistance (part of the good lock family of apps by Samsung) also lets you have different sound profiles for different times of the day.  Personally, as a smart watch owner (Galaxy Watch) I always have my notifications on silent.  My wrist buzzes if someone calls me or I receive a text and thats all I need.

I assume that doesn't have any impact on NFC or Wireless Charging?

How much was it, and how hard is it to apply?

landcruiserguy: Those skins look amazing but the breakablity of the note and the crappy thermal performance of the surface put me off.

I've never had a Dbrand skin stay on for long, apply properly, or not be sharp as hell on the edges.

That's good to know. 

They don't impact any functions of the devices.  NFC and Qi work fine.  And as I said earlier in the thread, if you follow the instructions and use a hair dryer/cloth to rub the edges of the skin when installing, they end up smoothing at the edges and becoming seamless with the device.  None of mine have ever peeled off.  I get that it's a preference and risk mitigation decision for most people.  Personally I hate cases and I want to feel only the size of the device in my hand.  I also know that after 10+ years of smartphone use my biggest issue is getting scratches on the back of the phone, so the skin protects from that.  I'm not protecting from drops or other impact damage.  I have insurance for that.

I have had DBrand specific skins on my last three Phones over 6 years, all of which were Samsung and had/have curved back glass. If you follow the instructions as stated, watch their install video as recommended, and heat edges and rub down smoothing the skin, they seamlessly blend into phone. I literally cant feel the edges on my Note 8.

I have never had one peel off and I use my phone in and around wet areas - Spa, Shower, Pool etc and the moisture/humidity/water never impacts the Skin.

I hate having a case on my phone as well, and the Skin provides enough added grip (glass back phones are slippery as all hell)...The Phone looks so much better out of a case!

Never dropped a phone, as I handle them like a $1K + device...not like my old Nokia brick. The skin prevents any additional scratching on the back plate as mentioned.
