Unfortunately no source means no custom kernels

Exactly - but the fact they're doing a beta-release would suggest the full-monty version isn't far away; you wouldn't bother coding drivers for a device that wasn't going to get a full release in some part of the world.

And I'm ignoring the whingers on XDA - as someone aptly said on the thread, GB is more about under-the-bonnet improvements than bells and whistles.

Yeah it should be a lot smoother. can't wait to see, but I'm definitely going to wait till the dust settles.

Hopefully not to long away(month or two) there will be some customs out, that's when I'll think about going to 2.3. Exciting nevertheless, that XDA thread is growing at an exponential rate :P

Great!

Will be keeping a close eye out for the next couple months for a decent custom ROM.

I've never rebooted back into recovery after doing a reset, wiping the cache and dalvik cache. As far as I know it doesn't make a difference whether you reboot into recovery before flashing it, if it makes you feel more comfortable it only takes 10 seconds to do so..... And Doc's JS5 seems very good battery wise, had phone left on a table at 6% for about 8ish hours and it only dropped to 5%, haven't even considered doing a recalibration since I flashed it.

Cool I'm also with 2Degrees but running Doc's JS3 with Speedmod K13C

What APN Setup do you have? I have 3:
2 degrees mobile which is mms + internet and not my default
2degrees Internet which is just internet and my default
2degrees MMS - this one may be set up wrong, however I got the 2degrees site to send the settings to my phone to install.

Can you post your APN Setup + the 2degrees MMS details?

Cheers

Getting a bit OT but:
Delete the mms+internet APN. Check the settings for the 2degrees MMS APN against the settings in the sticky in the Android forum.

As far as my APN settings go - I used the ones posted here in the android forum for 2degrees, AND I tried the ones 2degrees sends out (if you use the STK sim tool kit). Neither seem to work and both are slightly different.

It is very frustrating to have one of the most expensive phones in the land, and yet have a stupid MMS problem. I assume it's something silly.

What I'd like to know (process of elimination):

Does ANYONE have MMS working?
If so, What network and what ROM and what APN etc settings?

Thanks.

Yes mine works fine. I'm on Telecom using a cooked Doc rom 9.6.6 and just sent a photo and text to a Vodafone cell with no Issues
