Brendan:
lokhor: Anyone else have issues with sending and receiving mms messages? I can't get it to work

I do. 2Degrees, darkys 9.3 final speedmod kernel.

Cool I'm also with 2Degrees but running Doc's JS3 with Speedmod K13C

What APN Setup do you have? I have 3:
2 degrees mobile which is mms + internet and not my default
2degrees Internet which is just internet and my default
2degrees MMS - this one may be set up wrong, however I got the 2degrees site to send the settings to my phone to install.

Can you post your APN Setup + the 2degrees MMS details?

Cheers

As far as my APN settings go - I used the ones posted here in the android forum for 2degrees, AND I tried the ones 2degrees sends out (if you use the STK sim tool kit). Neither seem to work and both are slightly different.

It is very frustrating to have one of the most expensive phones in the land, and yet have a stupid MMS problem. I assume it's something silly.

What I'd like to know (process of elimination):

Does ANYONE have MMS working?
If so, What network and what ROM and what APN etc settings?

Thanks.

OK, I'm on 2degrees and have a recent but not the latest Doc kitchen ROM. I've had MMS working before, but tested and found I could send and receive (but not download) MMS. My settings are (now) as below:

Name: 2degrees internet
APN: internet
Proxy:
Port:
Username:
Password:
Server:
MMSC:
MMS Proxy:
MMS Port:
MCC: 530
MNC: 24
Authentication Type:
APN Type: internet

Name: 2degrees MMS
APN: mms
Proxy:
Port:
Username:
Password:
Server:
MMSC: http://mms.2degreesmobile.net.nz:48090 (no trailing slash)
MMS proxy: 118.148.001.118 (take care not to omit the leading zeros)
MMS port: 8080
MCC: 530
MNC: 24
Authentication Type:
APN type: mms (type this in lower case)

Two minor changes I made to get it working were to add the leading zeros and remove a trailing slash as above.

My 2c:

A while back, Neets was trouble-shooting the same issue, and (I think?) we established that MMS actually needs a 3G connection to work.

Apologies if I'm wrong, but have you checked your 3G connection is active?

I never disable my 3g connection. I get the MMS "message" but am unable to download the content. also sending gets stuck sending.

Thanks (and to the others keep it coming).

Even if it doesn't help directly it can eliminate duplicate effort.

I'll try these when I get hone. Point of interest: the settings from 2degres (sum toolkit) omit the leading zero's ...

I have also tried both unsuccessfully and I have a parallel import. Wondering if 2Degrees is somehow to blame.

Turns your Android device into a remote control for XBMC, and even lets you do WOL to turn your PC on - it works over your wi-fi connection, and it's super-quick.

Gives you the basic controls (play/pause/stop/menu) etc but you can also browse your media on the phone and then launch it on the display. Since its network based, it doesn't need line of sight to the computer that XMBC is installed on either.
It even pauses video if you receive a phone call.

FF is missing/broken though.
