networkn: If the S4 has 4G Does it show somewhere it's 4G? Secondly, can I get rid of the Telecom Logo? Lastly the 64GB SD Card I pulled from my S3, is getting rejected by the S4. Says it was unexpectedly removed...

may need to check the settings under network to make sure it is on auto.

You may need to reformat the SD card networkn

If you're on Voda and have 4G active on your account you may need to change your APN settings. The Vodafone 4G APN is just "Vodafone".

Oh its all plastic alright and it sounds like your plastic fantastic has already cracked. But dont worry, Sammy probably has a gimmick app for that too, or maybe it has interchangable bling rings.

just kidding. The S4 is not my cup of tea but looks like a super device and its always good to have these manufacturers raising the bar continually on eachother. Imagine a S5 with a build quality of an HTC One but without any of the minor deficiencies of either. You just know its going to happen. But for this spin around the upgrade block I see no meaningful gain in the S4 over the S3.

well lets see how that great build quality lasts (when it arrives) given it has less give than plastic, already seeing YouTube posts of bad finish to the plastic band on the HTC one so don't count your chickens. Maybe you could also explain how metal back and front improves performance.

No Troll Jeff I assure you. Just a little friendly dig. Don't be too precious, they are just phones made by corporates that aren't laying these out because the love you - although I'm pretty sure Sammy would be quite pleased with your brand loyalty. And maybe its deserved. Thev've done a fantastic job so far afterall.

I love tech in any form and have a particular affection for dead-in-the-water Web OS. Oh how I wish the world would see things my way but alas Palm and HP got themselves crushed under the wheels of the Android and IOS juggernauts.

No matter, I'm due an upgrade and am kinda' liking the HTC offering just now (I am sure they have only responded to a very high bar set by Samsung and Others.) But who knows. Going to give it a month or so to see how the S4 and One roll before making a decision. But a considered one Jeff. Any objective, honest apprasial would admit that both have their obvious appeals. As I said, wouldn't a Galaxy that exuded a premium build be a great thing? You againts that propsect Hoss?

I'm not precious just sick of the party line of "build quality" if its a good looking phone you want sure go for the HTC.

I have no problem with plastic so see no reason to not think its premium, I've had metal phones before that dent and mark very easily the 3 Galaxy's I have had thus far haven't done that.

yes I am loyal until the trust is broken, it hasn't been yet so no reason to change. Like you I'm waiting as well and it will be good to see HTC do well with this 'one' as they need it.

That's a favourite of mine... "Look at the build quality* better put a case on it forever!!1!!"
Shiny metal is not build quality... look at the HTC Sensation (metal back, POS phone, and the reason I'll never buy HTC again)

I've had my s3 without a case since June and it still looks fine.
I really couldn't care less what it's made of if it works and is light.
As for looks, I bought it for me, not to w^*k around showing people. "look at me, I splashed 1k on a phone so it better be metal! you all better look!"

It's been mentioned before that "premium" build materials don't necessarily translate into build quality and/or durability.

I've had all of the Galaxy models and have no issue at all with the plastic across all models. My phone runs 24/7 and used constantly during working hours and outside of work. They've all had a tumble at one stage or another and remained in excellent condition throughout.

I think the whole Samsung build quailty thing is just played out. Just my 2 cents! :P

Yes you may be right.

Personally, I have no problems with appreciating beauty right along with form and function.

As a Sammy owner I know there are lots of attributes that Samsung brings to a phone that are class leading - but I dont accept that form and function need to be mutually exclusive nor that aesthetics are irrelevant.

The jury is still out on the durability of that Other phone with the aluminium case but I am intriqued by it and want Samsung to convince me that they offer me the best mixture of the three things I personally look for in a phone.

The S4 is hardly ugly, far from it and like Jeff I do quite like it, had a play today as it happens, but you can be certain the Samsung witch doctors will be looking over their shoulders at the HTC One and plotting how to deliver the hell design smack-down next go around. As will Apple, and Sony and..... In fact I have been reading reports to that very effect that Sammy will be upping its game on the glamour stakes.

But dont worry lads, you wont be forced to hand in you Man Badges when sammy pours on the bling next time have no fear. In fact I bet you'll be among their most strident defenders.

You know you will.

I accept that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and my only position in this as a tech aficionado is to imagine how fantastic the future will be.

I don't pretend to understand myself, but I always respect that others use-case scenarios differ. Interesting that Samsung haven't got it, considering their typical 'brute force' include all features tendencies.

What I found annoying about the FM radio was having to use the headset as an aerial. I use a bluetooth stereo headset. Streaming radio is more convenient for me.

Before the Galaxy S series. . I had the HTC Touch Pro 2, the HTC Titan and an Ipaq.. Thought I'd be HTC forever. I tried the HTC flagship of the time before each S and I wasn't convinced. No doubt the One is an excellent handset but it's a no from me *buzzer sound* :P

Not saying it doesn't make sense for everyone, I can totally see that some people have use-case scenarios for it, just not me.
