Hey.. I tried taking the battery out as well and it didn't help..this is what I did to resolve it:
1) Go to Settings > Application Manager > All applications (on the top). Locate the "BadgeProvider" app, once in there select "clear data";-) all is well
2) Another way to fix the problem is to open the Task Manager and clear the memory stored in your RAM. This will close all running applications that are not essential for the phone's function as well as clear the annoying missed call, text message, email, etc. notifications.
Hope that helps.
mattwnz:muppet: With regard to touchwiz redraw issues, I spent some time debugging this.
The problem is system_server is leaking memory, it slowly grows in size from about 70mb on restart
to 240 odd mb. This means lots of apps are stuck in a state of restarting and touchwiz has to load most times its used. I currently work around it by restarting my phone every couple of days.
Apparently lots of people are reporting the issue and it's fixed in 4.1.2.
Hate to think how long it will be before we get 4.1.2. I only just got 4.1.1 from samsung.

Now got my official 4.1.2 update from samsung. Nice improvements such as multiview, and supposedly fixes the sudden death problem. Good that they pushed the update out quickly.

IMW:
WOW ,, that is great news ,,, which provider are you with or is your phone P/Imported ?
halfbaked: I also got the new update and played around with multiview which is cool but I found myself stretching to find uses for it.
My phone is parallel imported from playtech i think.
My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
hairy1: Hey Guys,
Just a quick question:
Is there any difference between the Telecom SIII and Vodafone SIII?
I know they are quad band so assume there is no difference?
Cheers, Matt.
