Hopefully it will be fixed in the next upgrade of the firmware. What theme are you using?

i ve always had screen protectors in the pass(just not the same with the glass feel or brightness)  but with the gorilla glass there's not one smudge let alone a scratch on the screen has been months and i live on farm (hands got dirt on them most of the time..) ...more of a mind  game now ,that it might get scratched but really it wont

Unless the glass is diamond, it'll scratch. All you need is some quartz grit etc.

I'd rather scratch a screen protector than ruin a $1000 phone..

Sadly the bubbles multiplied and instead of 2 that I didn't successfully get out in the middle of the screen, I've now got 4!

If I'd known they wouldn't come out (which differs to the advice in the YouTube video provided for guidance) I'd have persevered and got the suckers out ;-)

Also, did you wet both sides, or at least not worry if the side in contact with the glass had water on it?  The YouTube video showed wetting the side strips and sliding your finger down to get rid of excess water so it was my belief that it was ok to have water under the side in contact with the phone (which would be released as you run the credit card over it).  But I swear there's little rainbow stuff going on which is quite obvious with a white background like a web page.

I might order another.  This will annoy me the way it is, but I can see it wont take long for you to get used to the differnet rubbery feel to the screen.  And I was finding that my screen was getting grubby, even with using a micro fibre cloth to clean it, it was getting a bit of a greasey build up.  This may help.

Also, did you use a really bright light to look at the screen pre putting the cover on?  I used my head torch.  Interesting the little patter to the screen (beneath I suppose).  You certainly can't detect it without the bright light.

Both work for me, but Navigon gave me erorrs.  I'd always kept a copy of Navigon's app on my internal SD.  When I restored TB I didn't restore Navigon, rather I ran it from the copy on my sd.

Come to think of it, that's also what I did for Root Explorer.  But I always run the install file before I even take a look at TB.

So my suggestion is that if you've got the apk files on your phone, run them and don't restore them using TB or MyBackup - whatever you use.

As I say, both of these apps work for me, but on reflection neither were restored, rather installed from their respective apk files.

Nope still no luck. Copied the *.apk files to the external SD card. Uninstalled the the programs and re installed from the copied *.apk files, still get force closures.

I've had my SGS for 9 months or so and have no scratches on the glass. I don't use a screen protector and the phone is usually in my pocket with my keys.

I'm using the theme that's in my signature which has been modified a lot. But Root Explorer was getting fc's even completely stock. I tried it from an on my sd card apk and still no luck. But oh well, I hardly ever used it anyway

fallen: Took the plunge, installed stock JVB and Chainfire Kernel, now to decide on which custom rom to install. Those of you who are running JVB, any recommendations on a custom rom.

Hmm, wouldn't mind giving it a go, but can't get Kies going - just keeps "connecting" but nothing ever happens.

Haven't used Kies for a while, since my pre-flashing days quess it might be something associated with that.

Using GO Launcher as my default, but switch to TW using homeswitcher to get Kies cranking, but still no joy.

If anyone has any words of wisdom on how I might get Kies going again any assistance would be appreciated.

Cheers

any reason for insisting on using Kies? just curious as to your motivations..

JVB stock rom with bootloaders are here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011901

flash with Odin 1.7, tick "update bootloaders", takes about 2mins and youre done.

backup everything with TB beforehand, and restore afterwards, and it will be like you never left... other than everything suddenly being a whole lot cooler :)

Huh, only ignorance  !!! Embarassed

Thought I would have to use Kies to get the stock.

I have not used Odin before, so bit nervous doing that, but will look into it.

Thanks.

there are tons of guides on how to use odin if you just search a bit, but post up here if you have questions before you start and i will be happy to help, i just did this in the last few days once again so its fresh in my head

go download the JVB rom with bootloaders, then get odin 1.7, then go backup all your stuff if you dont want to lose it. ideally use Titanium backup, if youre not worried then even better. i sync all my contacts etc to google so nothing ever gets lost on the phone

let us know how you get on and ask any questions before you start
