That's a crazy deal. I paid $730 for mine from JB a few months back without the keyboard... just before all the one day sites started selling them for $500 or so.

But think of the pleasure you have got from your TF in those months Laughing.

Anyhow with the Prime due for release the current TFs will be fire-saled (fire-sold?) in preparation.  It is the way of mobile tech young padawan.

Interesting mine upgraded earlier in week and went to version 8.6.5.18-20111028
Just checked again now and no sign of your .19 wonder why there is a difference in such a short time

MyBackup had some incorrect permissions set and wasn't running properly - the .19 update fixes this.

Nice, thanks for the post :) I'd like to install ad blocking software and modify the hosts file to block ad servers, which I can do now :)

How easy is it to unroot? Do you still get firmware updates if you're rooted?

I haven't installed it yet, I'm about to take mine back to JB since the mechanism that locks the tab into the dock broke the other day (Feels like a spring's come off, doesn't click in by itself, have to move the switch back by hand, bit of a pain in the anus after waiting 2 months for a replacement charger >_<), but from what I've read, you CAN unroot it (but I have no idea on how difficult it is, I think it's just reflashing a default recovery image), and you don't get the official updates

snowfly: I have been holding out to get the new Transformer Prime, but I was bitterly disappointed to find out there won't be a 3g version. :(

Might have to source a 1st gen 3g Transformer (TF101G) from taiwan via ebay.
For me 3g is essential, and willing to pay for it, so not sure why asus isn't offering this in the new prime.
Yes I know you can tether a phone to the transformer, and use data via your phone, but I would much prefer to just run 1 device at a time.

Agreed - the option of 3g would be nice but I'll get one anyway and tether to my S2 in need. I have been waiting (not very patiently) for the Prime to be released. I wonder if Maurice plans to organise another deal thru Amazon as he did with the Kindle.  I see Amazon was taking pre-orders but the advert got pulled.

I'll be getting mine from overseas but not sure where from yet

I see they are available for pre-order now. Any suggestions as to the best place to get them from?

I'd be happy to order extra units for others if it is cheaper to go in together.
