Nice case. I quite liked the brown and red options. Does it affect swiping across from the edge of the screen?

Unfortunately it does affecting the swiping to the edge of the screen. Finding a case that doesn't affect this probably won't protect the phone if you place it face down... Like the phone to much to go naked and risk smashing it

Hi

I have two Nexus 4 (16G) coming in before Christmas (ETA 20th Dec), will sell one to any geekzone member at cost+$20, i.e. cost of phone ($349US), shipping, insurance ($63.70US), and any customs duty (Unknown) + $20.  This I calculate will be getting close to $700 NZ.

If interested contact me.

Peter

Now this button does what? whoops!

I got my handset on Wednesday morning and I just a quick question about how the restore works.
When I first boot the phone it asks all the usual questions, language, wifi, gmail account etc. It then gives you the option of backing up and restoring from Google. If I select that option then all the apps from my SGS2 get installed.

If I don't want all the apps reinstalled (i.e the apps that require root access since I'm not rooted atm) how do you stop them from being installed?

I don't think the Nexus 4 is any different to the GN in respect to the Google Wallet. I only got it working by rooting the phone and installing Market Enabler to make my phone look like it was T-Mobile. A VPN is not necessary and doesn't help.

It was fun paying for breakfast and then sushi by waving my phone over the EFTPOS device :-)

Finally got to play with one in my local Noel Leeming. Admittedly it was only a few minutes but I didn't see anything that would want me to upgrade from my Galaxy Nexus.

But looks like a cool phone and even at $799 here probably a better deal and phone than the S3.

Got mine today, it is definitely an upgrade over my galaxy nexus. Much more solid feeling and certainly more responsive throughout the OS. Love it.

At $799 it's still a kiwi rip off.  These are the same fones people are buying on the play store and landing here for about $525 ish..
Pity Google treats us like the tech 3rd world here..

True but it's available now and has a NZ warranty. Still if I were to get one, it would be via the Play Store and some sort of freight forwarder.

Anyone know if there any wireless chargers that work with this device here in NZ or is something that we have to source for overseas?

I really want to get a couple of these as I think a weak point in the phone is the USB jack and I want to get away from using this as soon as possible...
