Disrespective: So i've got root on my S4 using this process from Chainfire.

I've also flashed another tar from the same thread to make it all look official again.

Thanks, just rooted mine, but I used triangle away to remove the count.
Nice, I didn't realise triangle away worked.

Just looked at it again, it removes the count, but the status shows as custom. Oh well...

EDIT: flashed that other file and it still says custom..

If it says official (which neither one does) it would.

I'll just do my own updates I suppose... I used to for the s3.

I just bought the S3.  It's nice but I bought it via ebay and it starts and stops in French! Duh. Apart from that, I got a sweet price - $450 NZ :-)

The big question is, should I have waited for the S4 ?

That's a pretty good price for the s3 and less than half what you would've paid for the s4!

If you shopped around or imported, you'd probably get it for way less than that (edited my comment anyway)

I'm hoping samsung come out with wireless charging this time.
None of the accessories I can see here (Click on accessories) are even available on their website.

Interesting, mine says official when I go into recovery. I rooted and flashed the file I linked to only. I wonder if triangle away has edited a file the S4 needs for official status that the flashable package doesn't touch?

if I scroll at a billion miles an hour it might blur a bit... but so does my laptop... as they say on twitter, #firstworldproblems

EDIT: just compared with 2 s3's and it's just the same. no colour change.
