Finally got to play with one in my local Noel Leeming. Admittedly it was only a few minutes but I didn't see anything that would want me to upgrade from my Galaxy Nexus.

But looks like a cool phone and even at $799 here probably a better deal and phone than the S3.

At $799 it's still a kiwi rip off. These are the same fones people are buying on the play store and landing here for about $525 ish..
Pity Google treats us like the tech 3rd world here..

Go look at any carrier pricing internationally and it's the same deal.

Something odd. Voice search has stopped speaking, only shows web page results now. I have checked media volume in case that had been accidentally turned down but all ok there. Before, ie a few days ago I would get a spoken result as well as various web page suggestions. I guess I have changed a setting somewhere but cant see anything obvious.Any suggestions?

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

Are you on a different wifi connection? To work it needs to connect to port 14259 on Google's ips:

I know because this port (most of them actually) is blocked at work.

I got the Nilkin case today, it fits better than the reearth but is slightly more slippery in the hand. I think I'll continue with the Nilkin because of it's snug fit.

On the downside the Nilkin came with a screen protector that didn't come close to fitting the actual screen, it was about 5mm to short and 5mm to narrow - pathetic!

Do what I did, used some fine sandpaper on the sides of the case to take away the slippery feel. If you do it carefully it looks fine. I am quite happy with the case now.

Is it just me or is the weather card in Google now not working for auckland.

Even when you ask it the weather it doesn't speak the result. But when you ask it the weather for wellington or queenstown it speaks out the weather.

I haven't seen the weather card for over a week now on my Galaxy Nexus too! I thought it was just me. Tried resetting Google now and restored a old backup too but still the same.

So I ordered two Bumpers on the 11th of December.

Delivered in 3-5 business days

Today (7 days later) I get an email that it has just been shipped from Google...

My weather card is back now. I changed the weather units to Fahrenheit and it seems to have come back after a few hours. I have now changed it back to Celsius and it's still there so hopefully it stays there this time.

Apologies if this has already been discussed but couldn't find anything when searching, with my SGS2 I had the ability to set the system language to English (New Zealand) however there doesn't seem to be this on the Nexus

Is this possible or not?

I have a 2degrees purchased one and it received the 4.2.1 update about 5 minutes after powering it on

Since google does not openly allow sales to NZ they wouldn't waste their time. Same issue on nexus 7
