once I have the card cleared off I can give it a shot, but it would decline at the moment.

If this works, I'm getting an ASB credit card.

I hope it's not a combination of account setting, some random flag based on your previous account data, and credit card details.

Are they trading again but online only? And can they be trusted given their history of going into receivership.

May be keen but what's the risks involved if any?

How bizarre that DSE are trading again. Maybe the Aussie branch is just running an online web store?

interestingly, they're also selling Google Homes for 179, which is far below the 229 you'd pay for one at Noel Leemings.

the Pixel's are parallel imports it would appear, so the usual deal applies, but they come with a one year DSE warranty as they state here: https://www.dicksmith.co.nz/dn/direct-import/

Looks pretty legit, i'm excited to find out what the pricing is, probably same as Australia... so, same ballpark as a Note 8 or high spec iPhone.

And I thought I was all set to get a Note 8! Only thing putting me off the Pixel XL 2 is the issues LG is having with it's OLED screens. I'd hate to spend the money of a Pixel XL 2 and get stuck with a product that I wasn't 100% satisfied with. Would prefer to get it from a brick and mortar store so I could easily walk in and try and replace/exchange it if I had the issue.

I just tried to order the Pixel 2 XL from the US Google Play store, using YouShop and my ASB CC.

No go. Came up with an error code. A quick google said I needed to update my payments.google.com settings.

So, I changed my credit card billing address to YouShops, but still no go. Why won't Google just take my $1200!

Anyone successfully ordered a Pixel 2 yet?

Either Google have struck a deal with a carrier (2D maybe?) or they're just really keen on not selling many Pixels

Strange. Google do distribute Pixel2 in Australia and Pixel2 is still there on the au Dick Smith site. Google don't distribute any phones in NZ, the pixel2 is gone from the nz Dick Smith site but the pixel1 is still there.

My suspicion is that Google are yet again facing stock / inventory issues (like last year and all nexus years before that..) and Kogan/DSE can't fulfil DSE AUS orders, so have yanked it from the DSE NZ page...
