apocalypso: Anyone else get prompted for an update last night? I’ve got a 2015 KDL75-W850C it’s a fantastic TV - been really happy with it, pretty impressed it’s 4 years old and still getting updates!

Looks like it's the nougat update!

Been running Nougat for a while (X8500D same ATV1 platform)

Cool, thanks for the heads up guys.  Will check out mine tonight.

Then wait for the Oreo and Pie sometime soon after that 🤔 😂

My X900E

Exactly the same as yours.

Seems slow Android updates are universal across all platforms and not just phones.

Are others seeing something different today?

How are you initiating your update?

What are you guys looking for?

The Oreo update hasn’t been released, if you’re all running Nougat then that’s all that’s available for us at the moment.

It has been released in other regions, but after posting I checked Sony’s website and the Asia/Pacific rollout was suspended (again) according to the release notes posted 13/6

I’m not particularly fussed tbh but seeing this thread bumped I decided to check for myself out of curiosity.

Are those models 2015/16 1080p panels? I don’t think any of those are getting Oreo.

From Sony website re Oreo rollout

corksta: Not long to go! This from Sony NZ:

Nice, that sounds positive. Just hope no one finds another major issue this time around.

I’m really just hoping we get to tidy up the home page menu screen, as it’s a total mess at the moment.
We bounce between a few key apps, but there are tiles for heaps of other options you can’t hide presently.

Wonder if this will impact side loaded content, and if settings will revert to defaults. We run a particular sports streaming app really nicely on the TV itself, but it’s not officially available via the android play store for the TV device.

Mine updated a week or so ago but frankly it looks the same and since I have yet to change anything from out of the box I can't see it will make much difference to me what they load as long as it runs properly!

Mine keeps reminding me to update it every time I turn the TV on. I keep ignoring it as I want to catch up with my latest morning news events over breakfast not stare at a blank screen. How long does the update take, I'll to set it off one evening before bed time.
