HiTM4N: XXVJQ firmware with re-partitioning is still looping, but atleast we have a recovery menu now too, have flashed with semaphore kernel and am about to flash to Juwe 5.1 to see if that will make it go or if the phone is stuffed

HiTM4N you are a scholar and a gentleman, ok, so we didn't get it to work (stuffed i think, will see if i can get a repair) but i am really grateful for your time and assistance this afternoon. Im impressed how everyone pulls together to help out, but none more so than HiTM4N, you my friend deserve a beer, a cold one - in fact you deserve two. THANKS

Just re-posting what I put on the SGSII thread:

For those of you who like the idea of Root Explorer but perhaps not sure if you want to part with a few dollars without knowing if you'll benefit.  Maybe try File Expert.  It's very similar to Root Explorer but it's free.  You can add favourites (to folders/files) instead of adding Bookmarks in Root Explorer.

And it does other stuff I'm technologically equipped to understand.  Something about being able to connect to your computer and vice versa to see the files.  There's settings for FTP and Web.  There's a video demonstration too.  I feel asleep watching it last night - haha!

Anyway, take a nosey here

Hi Folks
In sheer desperation I am posting this here in the hope that someone will be able to help me.  I have a Samsung Galaxy S I9000 phone which is fantastic!

I am after a clip on, top opening belt pouch for it.  Now there are countless people selling these but I want a pouch that will fit my phone when it has a protective case around it, in the likely event that it will get dropped.

With the protective case on it measures 123 x 70 x 8.
Try as I might, I have been unable to find a pouch that will fit the phone with the case on.

Surely i am not the only one who has this problem.  Carrying the phone around in my pocket is not really an option , due to my clothing style (or lack of) and for more years than I can remember, my phone (s) have always  lived on my hip, for many hours each day and NEVER has one been damaged or lost.

I have seen many iphone and Android owners, who have damaged their phones because they have also had protective cases on and carrying the phones in their pocket the screens have become cracked or damaged.

Somewhere in this VAST world there must be a someone who sells such a product, which I would have thought, there would be a high demand for.

My goodness, just jumped to the other side of the fence and installed MIUI on the Galaxy S.  It all started from a failed attempt to undo lagfix so thought, now was the time to try something new.

MIUI is so amazing, the built in functionality is wicked. But the battery life is also amazing - amazingly terrible! But I think from what I've read it's come a long way so I need to do some calibration work before I can properly comment.

Installed Galnet's 5.1 yesterday afternoon (somehow missed 5.2!) so updgraded just now.  Going to stick with it for now, but already think it will be very difficult to go back to a normal Samsung based rom.

You'll have to reboot if it didn't finish, but it looks like the important bits (boot.bin, Sbl.bin, param.lfs) have written ok, so you'll either get a boot loop, or the Phone- - - - !- - - - PC symbol.

Just pull the battery, and reboot back into download mode.  I'd suggest you reboot your PC too, incase something (like Kies) is messing with your conenction.

A bit off topic - does anyone want to buy an XT HTC Sensation, in sealed box? $750.

I've been running the Darky's ROM v9.5 Froyo for a couple of weeks...a lot more stable than Eclair and I can have my screen up brighter for longer, so battery performance is better.

Got one question. I charge my phone up on the AC charger, it bleeps twice to say it's fully charged, then when I take it off the charger, say an hour later, the battery percentage is at 97%.

Does it charge and then stop charging? Strange.

That is a feature brought in with Froyo to prevent overcharging and extend the life of the battery.

Vivasanti: Darkys JVQ 10.2 beta is out for those that love Darkys rom :)

And now they're on "Golden Master". Has anyone given it a whirl?

I am on his 10.1 (defaults, no change to kernel/modem etc) and while some stuff (in particular k9-mail which I use all the time) is faster, I often get a huge lag when coming back to the home screen from an app (both the gingerbread 3d launcher and touchwiz). I didn't want to go back to 9.5 though, so have been hanging out for a fairly stable ROM to move to (I am not a habitual ROM flasher).

Installed, love it :)

fast fast fast......

Good to see so many people ranting on how fast it is compared to other builds of 2.3.4.
