NikT: According to that Amazon product page, it also doesn't support band 3 (1800MHz), making it useless for 4G in NZ..

Listed LTE bands: 2, 4, 5, 17 = 1900, 1700, 850, US 700MHz B block

Bands 3, 7, & 20 (1800, 2600, 800) are the important ones for European LTE, so I suspect this 'universal' business is a misnomer & the European 4G Moto G will have completely different band support. Don't buy the US 4G model, it's no more use on 4G in NZ than the existing dual SIM 3G model is.

Actually the Moto G dual SIM works fine with two Vodafone SIMs in it

How to get OTG working on a 174.44.1 updated phone

All the comments that I have read about this update is that OTG now works with out any addon apps

No true in my case as there is No file manager support in the phone

The Only file manager that does work is Total Commander, the other 2 file managers (ES3 & Explorer) will not show the USB storage.

So what am I doing wrong ?

or is some other way that I have missed. ?

Check for updates again. There was a 4.4.2 update that broke USB OTG. Pretty recently, Motorola released a second update that fixed the USB OTG.

If anyone didnt know, The moto g is $199 atm at warehouse stationery. It comes with a skinny sim but its not branded or locked. I think thats a pretty sweet price

I notice Amazon is tagging the new LTE one with this at the bottom of the info page.
"Special Shipping Information: Due to federal and international regulations, this product can only be shipped within the 50 states." Add to that YouShop.

Pity it doesn't do NZ LTE bands..

My Moto G arrived yesterday and I'd have to say I'm very impressed. For the money it's incredibly impressive and I've found the build quality fine. Obviously it's not made of premium materials but I much prefer it to something like a Galxy S3 with its slimy back.

It's just a pity I don't like Android that much as the version with an SD card would be great daily driver.

I've got a moto g which I need to sell. Dual sim, about 4 months old I think? So still in warranty bought new from Harvey Norman.

Near perfect condition with box and all accessories. What do you all think it's worth? And if anyone in here wants to throw me an offer then PM me.

Selling as I was given an s3 which I prefer.

I think it's pretty cute that Motorola periodically put out updates that change the bootup animation, and they're always fairly involved affairs. It'd be nice to be able to choose between them but it's nice that they're actually doing this given that it's purely cosmetic.
