Well; that is good I have only had mine fro a couple of weeks but seems fine so far. Look forward to a couple of years use by then Pixels might be cheap enough for me to buy
Nokia 7 Plus
Nexus 6P 32Gb
Nexus 6 Phone
Nexus 5 Phone
Nexus 7 2013 Tablet
Samsung TAB A 8"
Samsung TAB A 10"
& many Windows laptops, Desktops etc
HiKenny:
Almost certain that the phone won't be covered by the CGA after being dropped resulting in damage to the volume rocker.
However, like pretty much every Nexus 6P owner - you still have the issue with the battery. If the device is still under warranty it would be beneficial to give FoneFix a call, they no doubt will be able to repair the volume rocker for a small fee also.
I love this phone, favourite ever. Does everything I want. Was looking at buying another but not too many around sadly.
ronw:Just curious has anyone got a Nexus 6P that does not have problems like described in this forum?

I hear ya!
I had mine repaired after the bootloop issue, runs like an absolute dream! Just like the first day I purchased it.
However...
While it was being repaired, I picked up a OnePlus 3T to cover me over the down time while waiting on repairs - Since then, I've taken a real shining to the OP3T - One of them has to go, just unsure which one to sell

Except I bought a OnePlus 3T yesterday...
Is there some kind of device/cable I can buy to get the files off my 6P, without the phone being on? I cant get past the boot loop/errors because my volume rocker is damaged.
Thanks!
Not that I'm aware of, I believe the phone needs to be on and mounted before you'll be able to anything off it. Did you have your data backed up, you might be able to retrieve the info from Google?

We didn't realize until we read this thread that my friends phone was still covered under warranty. So we took it in this afternoon to Noel Leemings and they'll be sending it off to FoneFix for the battery issue.
I just hope that we have a speedy replacement like what's been described here in this thread. He did say it could take up to 15 days though which I thought was a bit crappy - but we'll see how it goes.

Quickest way is to contact Fonfix directly. They seem more than happy to cover repairs under warranty. I had my motherboard replaced initially. Unfortunately at the time, for whatever reason they never replaced the battery. Anyway, after a weeks use the battery was on it's way out, so another trip down to Fonefix and I now have a new battery and screen to boot. Great service and very speedy return.

Yeah, I did think about that, but then it means I have to go across to greenlane physically and drop off/pick it up.
We'll see how things go.. but the guy at NL looked at us like "really?! You're having trouble with your Nexus!?"
I find it a little hard to believe that they haven't seen any others, but either way. It's on its way at some stage to FoneFix.
If I have any further issues though, I think I'll go directly next time. Good to hear they are okay about that.

Understand that. I'm in Warkworth and couriered it down to them. First time I sent it down was a Monday. They got it first thing Tuesday morning. Had the repair done by Wednesday morning and the phone was back in my hands up here at Thursday lunchtime. Pretty quick. Second time will have been 6 days from start to finish, so still not too bad at all.
Where is the best place in Wellington to take my Nexus 6P in? I'm not going to bother trying to claim under the CGA. My phone is still in the bootloop phase, and with the volume rocker stuck, I cant do anything to fix it. I haven't actually tried to turn it on in a good 3 weeks.
Also, does anybody have any idea how much it would cost? $200?
Thanks!
