Finding an 8GB card a bit small with photos, music, etc. At the moment have to spread it out across the phone's USB storage and the SD card, but would prefer to have it all together on an external card.

It supports 32gb cards but I couldn't guarantee any would work, I think I might get a 32gb one soon too, they're getting cheap.

I thik a 16GB card would be suitable at the moment.

There seems to be a huge disparity in price, Vodafone always seem much cheaper than the other retailers for some reason.

VF 16GB card = $80, while DSE sells the 8GB card for $90. I bought my 8GB card from VF in November last year for $45, go figure.

Just search for 'SMS Backup' on the market. There are multiple options. SMS Backup & Restore has always worked well for me.

^ Ditto - the dev also does an app for call logs too. They're just .xml files, so are very easy to move around.

Hi i was wondering what was the best modem for vodafone network in i9000.
I read on this forum that KG03 is good but I was wondering if it was only for telecom.
So I ask what could be the best modem for vodafone.

Seems like my service problem still exists. Just finished restoring to stock 2.2 stock, then managed to find 2.3.3 stock as well (Telecom), so will be sending this phone away to get fixed under warranty.

Hi all - I have a SGS i9000T (on XT)

Travelling to the UK for a month or so at christmas and would be looking to pick up a pay as you go SIM over there (rather than paying roaming charges)

Any idea which of the UK telcos will be compatible with this version of the phone?

- What's the best kernel these days? I've gone for Hardcore's latest, as it seemed really good on JVR
- Is BUJP5 still the best Vodafone modem, or has it been superceded?
- With the latest ROMs, is an EXT4 conversion still necessary, or does RFS not lag any more after a few days?

I did this recently with s2. I would recommend virgin mobile, seem to have really good deal. But what ever you do, make sure you register is or else you don't get the proper advertised rate. This happened to me, i was burning through money really quick and didn't know why as their system wasn't very clear to me compared to NZ's. You do need a uk address though, I used my sisters but I guess you could use a hotel address as i dont think it really matters.

I don't know if other networks are the same, but I think my sister had a similar problem with O2.

Just my experience anyway, hopefully might help you not make the same mistakes i did.

I'm on darky's JVT on Darkcore 4.1.1... very happy with it.

They are also working on a OTA app with Themes, mods, upgrades, apps, boot animations etc
It's not released yet but shouldn't be far away

They have JVT in beta still but it is very stable... loving it!!

Edit: They also have it flashable without turning the lagfix's off so i'm on EXT4. I have not turned lagfix off for ages so not sure if RFS has improved (I doubt it)

I'm not a complete idiot, I still have some parts missing.

I am a big fan of the Semaphore kernel. I am using the 1.8.0bm (352MB available RAM) at the moment - OC 1200. I see the ROM kitchen have his stock-standard 1.8.0 as an option.

I am using Galaxian Supersonic JVT SP4 ROM (EXT4 autoconvert) with Semaphore kernel over the top. Finding it to be a pretty fast / stable / reliable package all round. Quadrant scores of 2500-2800 on a regular basis (2941 as we speak).

On XT, so can't help with the modem question sorry.

EE is the standard kernel that comes with the SP4 ROm, but I didn't think it was a patch on the Semaphore kernel with its BM and OC...anyway, each to their own I guess.
