bradstewart: I remember my rooted S2 would search for updates but it couldn't install them.
Lambchop: so i picked up a telecom s4 today - has any one rooted yet and NOT have a custom status result from it?A few pages back I linked to a few posts that I used to root mine. It has left me with a Samsung Official Binary and Official system status. And whilst it checks for updates fine, I can't say if it'll install them yet but the consensus on xda that I read was that it'd install them fine but it would remove root in the process.
i'm gonna hold off until that's confirmed .... no one knows yet how stuff like knox is effected ..
bradstewart:nzgman: well after spending a few hours with my new phone I have found that I was sent the i9500 model and not the i9505. ( I want the correct one for NZ for 4g)
have defaulted it and am returning it tomorrow :-(
Where did you buy it from?

joker97: Kogan.com.au for aud699!

is it worth waiting for the Korean version of exynos as it comes with lte
networkn: Ok so I have what may turn out to be a dumb question, I don't have time right now to research into it, hoping someone here might have an issue.
On the lockscreen if I swipe the edge of the screen it moves to a strange window, the purpose of which I am unsure of. Also if I get notifications like a text message etc, I can't open it from there.
You can open from there, tap on the message and an empty box shows up, swipe to unlock in that box and it will open in the message app.

Thanks. What a stupid feature. How can that be better than just swiping up from the message widget at the bottom of the screen.
