Sent my 6P away last week via my closest 2Degrees store. Still waiting for it to come back.

Pro-tip: don't take your phone to a store, have them send you a courier bag haha. The girl in the store was perfectly nice but seemed skeptical about it being a straightforward problem that is well-known. So she gave me the usual "it can take up to two weeks blah blah" spiel which hasn't filled me with confidence.

It was much fast last year when I got the camera replaced, I dealt with Huawei and Fonefix direct.

When did you get yours back? And, how long did they have it for.

I spoke to fonefix earlier today and they seemed to think there was no shortage of 6P parts.

You may (or may not) have seen that there is now a "Pixel 2 Launcher" available.
I tried it for a couple of days but have gone back to the "Launcher 3" because of two problems:-
1 - significant battery drain issues
2 - notification dots no longer worked

I installed the "modified" Pixel 2 Launcher which included Google Now.

YMMV but if anyone else has feedback about it I would be interested to know it.

Still waiting as of this morning, so that makes two full weeks.

I called them a couple of days ago and they said they had to order in the part, which had now arrived and it would be back at the store yesterday (nope) or today (hopefully!).

Long story short, always opt for the courier bag from 2D, then send your phone direct to Fonefix. That seems the faster route.

I see that mine has updated to "In Repair" on the site, so looks like the parts are in :)

Just got mine back. Repair involved replacing both the LCD and battery, so I guess they must've done the motherboard? so the battery issue was a core hardware one. No wonder Huawei extended the warranty to two years haha

Dropped off 8:30 am, picked up 1:50 pm - that's just over 5 hours. Those folks at fonefix are awesome. They replaced the screen/battery and charging sub PCB and apparently this should have fixed the microphone problems that I was having as well. It seems that the display and the battery come as a single unit, hence why so many are having their displays replaced.

I can't speak highly enough of how good fonefix are to deal with. I pity those of you with N6Ps  who don't live in Auckland!

I think the LCD itself is the cause of the problem that's why it is being replaced.

I noticed on mine that it shuts down between 40 to 50% when the LCD is on.  But it manages to get as low as 10% when the LCD is off before shutting down.

Maybe, but they were quite specific that the screen and battery are a single part. I asked what the cost would be if I paid to have the battery replaced - $299 - because the display is also replaced.
