yes but he is talking about the version being sold on Clove in the UK.

I mistakenly ordered one there until I realised that it wouldnt work properly on Telecom so had to cancel my order.

FWIW i took a bath on the exchange rate as well from when i placed and paid for my order, until I cancelled it about 3 weeks later.

I inquired at Dicksmith St Lukes regarding stock and preorders - they don't do an official pre order but will take a 10% deposit to 'reserve' one (not sure how that's different to a preorder...). The guy there also said they are only getting in 100... Country wide.... Hope that's a mistake.

My local Telecom store (St Lukes) are either keeping quiet or truly don't know about the release yet at all.. no confirmed date.. no confirmed numbers of stock.. nothing.

Strange that as we received a junk mail from Dick Smith yesterday which showed the HTC One XT and said available for preorder but mind you it also advertised it as having 13 mp camera

Albany DSE said they were getting 80 in on Tuesday morning, however they were unsure about the colour options as I'm only after a black one. Does anyone know 100% where to pick up a black One?

DSE has confirmed orders for 400+ countrywide and there's no way Albany DSE will be getting 80 units this week. That'll be an initial shipment for the whole country. They're also only showing the Telecom model on their system and judging from Telecom's site that'll be the white one only at first

Their website actually showed 6 in stock this morning, currently at 3. I went into the Penrose store today, had a look at their phones and was initially disappointed they didn't have the One. Looking again I saw it sitting there with no placard (all other phones had one incl. price). Asked to have a play and spent about 5 mins on it.

Tbh having used an S2 for the last 1.5 years I personally didn't like HTC's overlay (Sense?). If the phone had blown me away I would have bought one then and there but I think I prefer the S4.. and maybe if it was a little closer to Telecom's supposed $999 I could have been tempted.

yea its a vodafone only phone but from clove as i mentioned. it doesn't worry me though i usually prefer a dual quad band to keep my options open but then i've never gone back to telecom.

my preference for a dual-quad is based on ability to use phone in more places in the world versus a need to have telecom/vodafone options. in my opinion they're both a-holes or great depending on all sorts of everything really so i stay on vodafone only because i have 3GB data at a great price (older plan).

Its 100% the best phone about. bar none. with absolutely awesome features and build is really really almost beyond description.

when are they arriving in new zealand telecom and vodafone stores by the way? i asked and no-one seemed to know in store.

More worried that with the small allocations they won't have enough for all the preorders, I know Noel Leeming TGA has sold a sh*t tonne of them and I don't want to send my missus in at 5:50pm and find they have given ours out.

I payed in full for two during the start of the easter sale so this shouldn't be the case but yeah.

I would hope Noel Leeming send them out in sequence from orders. That is those who ordered before the Easter sales be sent out first and those who ordered in the Easter sales be sent out of oldest first etc

Pre-ordered from Noel Leeming Wairau park this afternoon. They have 14 HTC One's coming into stock and 10 (now 11) have been pre-ordered.

Girlfriend used her cost+10% student discount and got the phone for $878. Tried to get them to match the $800 Easter weekend sale price to no avail.

Because $800 + $80 = $880 and that mean at 20% at Easter was selling at cost?

I got mine on Friday for $880 by asking them the cheapest price after they refused to do $800 price match.

I am tempted to buy another incase the one I get has poor build quality where I may be required to wait for more stock to arrive in order to get a replacement.

I should try push the boundary see if I can get cost + 5% roughly $840

Yep, that's the flyer we printed and took into the store.

Very happy with the price and it's a bonus that NL has flybuys too.
