It will be interesting to see when this update becomes available. I wanted the 32gb version. So I ended up with an import and couldn't more happier. Neither Spark or 2 degrees offered this.
Had notification about a day ago on my G3 for the Lollipop upgrade, which I got around doing last night. Upgrade went fine; maybe I'm missing something, but the material design aesthetic isn't obvious, given what I'm assuming is LG's own adjustments to it (so it looks like it did under 4.4!).
The battery life - which had been fantastic on 4.4 (despite what I'd read - I could make it through two sometimes three days w/o wifi and 3G on full-time) - has thus far been substantially reduced, but I hope this is just an initial response.
The 'trusted devices' feature wasn't initially invisible, but after following instructions on the web (uninstalling then reinstalling the updates to Google Play) it's now working, and it's great having (for example) the phone lock being disabled when in the car (needed for the kids to select Spotify music!).
EDIT - has anyone with a G3 had the problem with wifi not reconnecting? Had no awareness of this before buying the phone, but it's a real annoyance - the only immediate solution is to re-boot the phone, which I sometimes have to do a couple of times a day (seems to be worst when coming back to the same wifi network after having been connected to another in the interim). Anyone know of a solution that doesn't require having to root the phone? I'd rather avoid rooting if at all possible, but will do so if this offers the opportunity to sort the problem out permanently.

I can't say I've had Wi-Fi issues, in fact quite the opposite - the new Wi-Fi system that handles poor internet connections appears much more robust to me especially in the situation where you've connected to a hotspot but not signed in, or the Wi-Fi strength has dropped too far to actually carry data. In both situations the data connection is maintained correctly through 3g/4g instead of becoming unreachable as it did on 4.4.
I've experienced reconnection issues on other devices in the past, changing Wi-Fi channels to something less congested was the solution. Worth a go if it's your Wi-Fi access point. Have a tinker with the options in the Wi-Fi advanced menu, the one pertaining to Wi-Fi scanning always being available. Try it off if already on, otherwise sorry I've got no further suggestions.
One issue I have noticed is the launcher 'Home' app crashing, about once a day so far.
Battery life remains consistent for me, at about 36-48 hours. If yours remains low I'd recommend a factory reset, it's a behavior I've seen in the past with OTA upgrades. One thing you could try that is a little less invasive is to remove and recreate any mail accounts, especially exchange accounts. I had to do that with my wife's nexus 5 as the changes to the exchange connection modules appeared to work poorly until all accounts had been removed and recreated with a reboot in between. I'm guessing that the upgrade process was not completed correctly somehow for that app.

Factory reset usually helps after a software update? Batt life wasn't lasting for me either, has somewhat come back to normal after the factory reset.
yea can't say lollipop was tested properly before the OTA release. Having issues connecting to wifi at work too - similar to those reported online. Real annoyance - having to use data..

Yeah, I got that update too - not sure if I like those new buttons! I haven't noticed any problems with the wifi now, so hopefully that's solved (but this re-connection issue has always been intermitent).
Has anyone else with this model noticed the problems with the analogue audio out? When listening with headphones I've noticed terribly poor quality audio, no matter the source. Even the system noises (such as the audible "click" when pressing the home button) results in significant hiss when headphones are connected; similarly, music can often sound distorted and crackly. Often it can also sound like a low bitrate MP3. Searching for help on this I did find a solution that works for me - insert the headphone plug really slowly, pausing when there's an initial crackle through the phones; continue slowly to insert it fully, and the 'line out' icon should appear in the top bar (as opposed to the headset icon). Sound is perfect when I do this.
@jonathan18 hahah yup thought that was just me and my headphones. For whatever reason, a restart (before jumping on the train in the morning) usually fixes this for me. I know the sound is gonna be poooos if the headset icon shows up instead of line out or headphones icon, but its a lottery really.
