No updates available for my P9.

No updates available for my P9.
they roll them out in batches by IMEI number.
usually my phone gets its updates about 5 days after my wifes does (mate 9)
all i can say is, just wait :)
Ah cool. No huge rush, it works ok. They bring out Android N just after O is released! :(
I think I'll get a more generic phone next time, maybe a Nexus or whatever Google call their phones, or maybe a cheaper Chinese one like Oppo or something, a company with a reputation for releasing updates reliably.

Receiving updating today!!!! Finally!!!!!
I'll hold my breath until you report back, it's possible you just got the 4.1.2 update (Maori language update and a few others).
It seems no one has actually received an upgrade to Nougat yet. Right?
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
Nougat??? surely you would want Oreo. I have had Oreo since the day it was released. My suggestion is switch to Google phones
Nokia 7 Plus
Nexus 6P 32Gb
Nexus 6 Phone
Nexus 5 Phone
Nexus 7 2013 Tablet
Samsung TAB A 8"
Samsung TAB A 10"
& many Windows laptops, Desktops etc

The problem with Google phones is that they cost around twice the price of the Huawei for similar hardware.
No update available on my P9+ yet via the phones update tool. I have TeamMT Firmware Finder on my phone and it shows that VIE-L09C706B300 update is available dated 23/08/2017. Change log shows EMUI 5.0 based which is the one that's been out for a year or so. Think they have been up to EMUI 5.1 for some time now.

Huawei really are crap about this, which is surprising given it was their flagship until not that long ago. I guess they need to keep the latest up to date first and have good current offerings, but if they want past owners to buy new Huawei phones they need to keep updates coming a lot better than they are.

The P9+ was their latest and they didn't keep that up to date at all. Google need to take over the deployment of updates.... or at least the security updates for the OS.
Here is some good reading.... we all know this but he has put it nicely.

My P9 got its V7.0 update last night.
Its not NZ purchased though.

You've also got phones like the OnePlus however this is off topic. It is personal preference. My mother loves her P10 Lite and here's hoping that Huawei keeps up with updates on that.

So this site indicates that the firmware is out there, B381 seems to be the build number for NZ: http://ministryofsolutions.com/2017/08/huawei-p9-eva-l09-nougat-b381-emui-5-new-zealand.html
That site seems relatively accurate as they correctly list the build number for the current Android 6 NZ build (B145).
I haven't been brave enough to try the manual upgrade process the site mentions (and the URL for the fw doesn't seem to be reachable thru a browser).
<taps update on phone a few more times>...

Slightly more info would be very useful. What exactly is being updated (Android OS, EMUI overlay,...?), how is it coming to you/what carrier are you with etcetera.
EMUI 5.0.1 EVA-L09C706B381 Andirod 7.0
Its the B381 version, carrier is Spark.
Bought the P9 last month from Warehouse Stationary, didn't receive any update until this one. So it is not a old stock.
