I just tried to order the Pixel 2 XL from the US Google Play store, using YouShop and my ASB CC.

No go. Came up with an error code. A quick google said I needed to update my payments.google.com settings.

So, I changed my credit card billing address to YouShops, but still no go. Why won't Google just take my $1200!

Anyone successfully ordered a Pixel 2 yet?

Google doesn't want our money. Not enough of it as they treat us like the tech 3rd world for phones and tablets. I remember trying to contact them once about the lack of devices but could find anyone..

I ordered one on launch day, using my work gapps account and country set to USA with delivery address to my mates house in California, using my ANZ Visa.

Order has been processed.

What do you mean you changed your country to USA? Which setting? I am looking to do the same.

Clove notes that they will start selling the Pixel 2 mid November so if you want to avoid the whole youshop retailing then I guess Clove is always an option.

Btw DSE has taken the Pixel 2 off their website.

Any form of mail order will get GST and customs charge of around $250 on a Pixel 2 XL 128Mb. None of that if you happen to be travelling in the USA to collect.

With the difference in price in the US, it will probably work out to being the same as a parallel import in NZ

Be aware that the original Pixel's sold in New Zealand are US imports (much like you're all talking about buying) and DO NOT support LTE carrier aggregation on the bands used in New Zealand. Now I can't speak for the Pixel 2, hopefully it's different. Not really a big issue, but if you want the fastest of the fast, well CA is where it's at.

I made the "mistake" of buying a PB Tech Pixel only to realise it's a US model, not the Australian (well, International) model. So Carrier Aggregation won't work on it. Wish I'd bought an Australian version instead.

Hey but I'm good if I ever want CDMA support (kill me now)

this has me worried... (only because i know nothing about it and it sounds disturbing...) I tried researching LTE & Carrier aggregation but couldn't really get my head around the whole thing.

Anyhow, Google (US store) lists the network specs as:

World-wide network/carrier compatibility with:1
GSM/EDGE: Quad-band (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
UMTS/HSPA+/HSDPA: Bands 1/2/4/5/8
CDMA EVDO Rev A: BC0/BC1/BC10

FDD-LTE : Bands 1*/2*/3*/4*/5/7*/8/12/13/17/20/25/26/28/29/30/32/66*2
TD-LTE: Bands 38*/40/412
Supports up to CAT 15 (800Mbps DL / 75Mbps UL), 3x DL CA, 4x4 MIMO, 256-QAM DL and 64-QAM UL depending on carrier support

all i could work out is that vodafone's "4G extended" network uses the 700MHz freq. or standard 4G uses 1800MHz, does that mean the pixel will only connect to 4G networks and not the 4G extended networks? Or am I getting totally mixed up?

I did a bit of research myself, it seems that other people haven't been able to figure out what the CA bands for the Pixel 2 are. They were clearly listed for the original Pixel.
