Are... good, I should had waited a few more days as per my previous posts, have my "soak test" 5.02 version running fine after installing updated moto apps, screen dims properly now.

Cant update with OTA or putting in root dir now, will do a hard install when I feel like installing all apps again at some stage, but it's running fine at moment.

Overall I am very happy with the Android 5 update on my MotoG first Gen. It seems much snappier than before, and I love the new design.
Well worth the wait for a more polished OS, which seems to be against the norm these days (especially in the gaming industry) where most companies release fast and fix the bugs later.

Hasn't arrived on  my Wife's Mk1 Moto G  but I sure hope it works better than her 2012 Nexus 7  which is a real dog after the update  to 5.1.2..

It's just arrived on my wife's mk1, I've not installed it yet though. I'm still very happy with how it's running on my mk2 - it's now over a week since I installed it and the only time I've needed to restart the phone was when I changed SIM cards, I was having to reboot every 1-2 days with KK 4.4.4 due to the memory management bug.

My son got his Moto G from Amazon the other day and within an hour there was the Lollipop update which went smoothly.

As an aside, something we didn't check, one thing we miss is NFC as he usually uses my Nexus 5 to read and top up his Snapper card and I guess will have to continue to do that.

Seems like a pretty minor omission to save costs.

My wife's Moto G hasn't had any update yet. Not sure she'd accept it if it popped up, she likes it how it is now and change can be bad.

Try going to "About Phone" > "Update" and ask for the update and see what you get..
