NikT:
martyyates: That's a big negative Josh. Nothing still (am on VF). Checking via OTA and Motorola Device Manager. May log a call with VF to see if they know any timelines...or if they know anything at all...

Hey Marty,

Vodafone NZ did not range the Moto G, so we have no involvement in the software update process. Same goes for every other device we don't range, like the Nexus line. :)

Cheers,

 - Nik

The Real update 5.1  is being stated on the net at the end of Feb, the 5.02 still has Bugs and missing features.

So...I'm guessing if I stick a 2degrees sim in my 2013 amazon one it won't help get the update faster?

I'd say no, as no update for us in that scenario

So a week or so on from my Moto G 2nd gen Lollipop update - I'm lovin the new look and feel of it. So smooth, polished and speedy.
Battery life difference is not too noticeable to be honest.
The new notification setup works well too.
Overall, I feel like its a improvement making it feel like a new phone.

Single SIM imported version (?UK, got it second hand from a member here) - just had the OTA update to 5.02. It's for my mother in law, hope this works as well as kitkat did. If the battery life is bad - then I will need to reinstall everything from scratch. Unfortunately, it still retains black bar top and bottom.

Black bar? Also one great tip is to use Power Toggles, very handy.

My wife's phone got the update a couple of days ago... it had appeared before but she'd hit the "ignore" button and not told me. I installed the update. She doesn't like it much, as power toggles now appears on the home screen, and when it's in the notification area you can't easily toggle 3G any more. She said apps are slower to load, but once they load they're the same speed. Overall I think she'd rather be on 4.x.

The link didn't work for me and here is what I thought it should be: www.stjsgadgets-portal.com/2015/02/moto-g-3rd-gen-specs-leaked.html.

Quite happy to see the spec upgrades except the 5.2" screen. Can't they just leave the phone be pocketable?
