GeekRay:
old3eyes: Here's the so called  specs for the 2015 model.

3rd Gen Moto G

The link didn't work for me and here is what I thought it should be: www.stjsgadgets-portal.com/2015/02/moto-g-3rd-gen-specs-leaked.html.

Quite happy to see the spec upgrades except the 5.2" screen. Can't they just leave the phone be pocketable?

You're correct.  There was a space between portal and .com   Have removed it.

I like the increase in size  but 5.2 is about the max .  Hope it still has dual SIMs though..

Regards,

Old3eyes

I am waiting patiently for my XT1039 as well. But since Motorola has decided to skip 5.0 and roll out 5.1 instead for Moto G, the wait may be longer than we anticipated.

Has anyone with a XT1032 (1st Gen single SIM) applied the Lollipop update yet?  My wife's XT1033 has had it for a while and seems OK, but I have read very dire reviews of its impact on performance of the 1032.  Mine has been very stable on 4.4.4 for a while and the OTA to 5.0 has just become available.  I'm not sure whether to accept

My wife has it. She said the phone is slower, battery doesn't last as long, and she doesn't like the interface. I said I could probably roll it back to the previous version of she really wanted me to, but she hasn't taken me up on it yet.

Thanks - I might stick with what I have in that case.  I have no real need to upgrade and battery life has already gone from fantastic to OK over the year I've owned the phone.  And, Lollipop pretty much killed my Nexus 7 2012

Running 5.1.1 on my Nexus 7 2012 and really happy with it. Tried clearing the cache to speed things up?

The 5.1.1 update fixed my 2012 Nexus 7. 5.1 was terrible almost unusable on it.

Sorry, that was off topic.

Back on topic. Moto G 2 is $248 this week at Harvey Norman. 5% off that if you get price match promise at Warehouse Stationery.

Agreed - 5.1.1 is much better on the Nexus and luckily I didn't float-test mine after the first few weeks on Lollipop.  My only problem now is random but quite frequent occasions when it completely drains the battery and dies while on standby

I have the US XT1032 retail model, just updated to 5.0.2 last week.
Don't like the software upgrade, the phone is definitely slower than 4.4.4, and battery life is not as good as 4.4.4.
And I still can not get use to the new lollipop interface
I would suggest to wait for the 5.1 roll out.

I got sick of the phone nagging me to update every couple of hours, so did the update

Seems OK so far, comparable speed and battery life

5.1 update came through overnight to my XT1039. Applied and all good so far. Just need to free up some internal disk space to allow Google Play services to update....

So the wait is over? Hooray!

Keen to hear a bit more if you don't mind. Particularly on the battery life and how this little phone performs when compared with 4.4.4. Thanks.

Do you know what your original firmware option was as it hasn't shown up for my Xt1039 yet.

I'm on 21.11.56.peregrine_reteu.reteuall.en.EU reteu

that looks to be very similar to what I was running. Don't have the exact build but def peregrine / retail / EU were all part of the f/w.
