Because they are in breach of their Agreement with Google, because I paid $1499 for the phone and its sitting on a security patch from last year. Because Samsung updates theirs in NZ monthly, and because you are only owed the best and don't settle for second best. You might think it pointless but it works.

its not getting you the update any faster though :)

it doesnt matter what other manufactures do either, each to their own.

if you wanted the best you would have got a vanilla android phone (pixel)

FYI, I don't care if you play by the rules to impress a company that doesn't know you exist, I don't, I work hard and deserve the phone I paid for to be up to date. You sit back, leave it to the rest of us to make them change for the better. 😉

you are not going to force a multi billion dollar multi national company to change their software deployment schedule no matter how hard you think you are trying.

you get the updates when you get the updates.

NikT:

EMUI 10 is now available on my NZ single-SIM P30 Pro. 4.66GB(!) download.

10.0.0.178.

Which carrier @NikT ?

We're still waiting, up here in the wilds of North Auckland

There was no SIM in the handset, switched to Mate 30 Pro in ~November.

I was curious whether leaving a SIM out would affect the way updates are gated and deployed.

For what it's worth the EMUI 10 update isn't particularly different to EMUI 9.1. I know the feeling of frustration while waiting for updates that are available in other regions very well, but beyond the redesigned notification shade with dark notifications, there's not terribly much folks are missing here. Hopefully the Mate 30 Pro's colour gradient always-on display that changes over time makes its way to the P30 Pro and friends soon, it's a nice feature and isn't in this update.

Thanks for the update @NikT - I appreciate the extra info on what is coming and also the possibilities for later
