Yes I would get the global GSM version, it seems to support more frequencies, including some used in the US. It'll work best in NZ, and work fine in the US too.

I'm not an expert though.

timmmay: Where'd you get yours from? Clove right, the 8GB? Good to hear it's looking good :)

Yes Clove. Arrived almost exactly within a week.

We fired it up last night, really nice. Screen was nice and sharp, vibrant colours. Very smooth user experience, did not notice any sort of lag. Only had a couple of minutes with it but it's certainly living up to the reviews. :)

Looks like only one available on Amazon.com is the US 16GB version.

Thats strange. Checked two days ago and they were selling all the available versions. Link to global version shows US version.

Maybe they've sold out. or filled their quote already? It looks a bit messy because a lot of the questions on the phone are people asking about the global version and that sort of thing.

I'd be hesitant ordering the UK one because I need to be certain I'd be getting the global version, as I live rurally I need the Extended 3G on Vodafone.

Unfortunately at amazon.com all 4 versions link through to the 16GB US version, so there is no options for the global version.

Within the Moto G page on amazon.com there's a drop down to select your version.

I did an analysis of the frequencies in the UK and NZ on page 2/3 of this thread, the UK version should match up. I suspect there's the version for the US, and the version for everywhere else. If it doesn't work I'll just return it, or sell it.

Yeah the US version will not connect to Vodafone on 3G, by the looks of it.

On amazon.com I don't see a drop down option. Above the tech details it has a section "customers also bought..." and has links to 8GB US version, 16GB global version etc etc but they all just link back to the US 16GB version. Under "size" it is "US GSM - 16GB" and there are no other options. Would you mind double checking that you do have a drop down option currently? I think they changed it just earlier today.

Can't post screen shot right now, I'm at work and I have little software.

That link goes to the 16GB US version, and when I use the drop down list and select 8GB Global, it takes me to the 16GB US version, in fact no matter which option from the drop down list you select it takes you to the 16GB US version. Guess I'll just be waiting.

Good point, there is a drop down but it doesn't work properly.
