mckenndk: Have they said what LTE band's it supports yet?

It supports band 28 - and category 6 LTE with carrier aggregation. One of the most compelling reasons to upgrade in my book!

Hmm have to think about it, I am going to be in Canada over much of next year so might be best waiting or go for a local model over there.

Would not mind to try the Edge model.

You'll need 1700 & US 700MHz bands (13/17) for Canada, probably be better to go for a local model. Could always get a Blackberry if you want the full Canadian experience, eh? ;)

In case anyone missed it Displaymate tested the Note 4 screen - they rate it the best screen ever to grace a mobile device based on overall display characteristics. In particular they highlight one of the lowest reflectance values recorded, the brightest mobile screen recorded (in auto-brightness mode, which has a higher max brightness than manually), absolutely superb colour accuracy in the "basic" screen mode, and the usual impeccable viewing angles seen in AMOLED screens. Across the board excellent measurements, basically.

I just spotted that article, IMPRESSED!

http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-note-4-edge-screen-525740/

http://www.displaymate.com/Galaxy_Note4_ShootOut_1.htm

Ive seen a US date for the Note 4 for mid October but nothing at all for the Edge
this article doesnt look great for the Edge so far:  http://www.gottabemobile.com/2014/09/15/galaxy-note-edge-release-problems-emerge/

this site seems to be the most reliable so far for any indication of pricing on both phones, even though its UK...

http://www.clove.co.uk/samsung-galaxy-note-edge
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 - £575 inc. VAT = $1,140.81NZ
Samsung Galaxy Note Edge
- £650.00 inc VAT = $1,289.63

US release dates are rumored on a couple sites as Oct 3 or Oct 10....

http://www.gottabemobile.com/2014/09/15/samsung-galaxy-note-4-release-date-beat-iphone-6-plus/#at_pco=smlwn-1.0&at_si=5417cfedad010358&at_ab=per-2&at_pos=0&at_tot=1

so who knows when NZ will get them!

when the Note 2 was due to arrive, I was hounding VF & Samsung for a release date, they said they'd 'make an announcement' for it once its available.
yet the next week I happened to be in Auckland & saw it was available in Auckland vf stores! Hence I got one immediately! lol. But I didn't see any announcement either

Clove are excellent, purchased a good many phones from them (and also wrote for their blog for a time). Cannot recommend them highly enough. Be aware that orders from NZ will NOT be charged VAT, so use the Clove price exclusive of VAT. They will be charged GST on arrival of course (sometimes if they are shipped Royal Mail they may slip through without attracting GST, but this cannot be relied upon and when they do get picked up it can lead to delays in receiving the phone of up to a couple of weeks, from my point of view better to ship Fedex and pay GST in order to receive the new shiny ASAP).
