Do we think the Sony XZ will turn up on Vodafone in NZ?

As mentioned a couple of pages back, my source says "quite likely"

Ah; well let's hope not too long now. VF's collection of phones is looking a bit sparse - sort of "iPhone 7 and a few other oldish handsets if you really don't want an iPhone..."!

Hope they have that blue colour - it looks very smart.

And it has.  Available on 18 October for $1100 according to Stuff (so it must be true) :-)

I do like Sony, and I think this is a great looking piece of kit, but not enough here to tempt me away from my S7. Maybe next year's version after they have shaved 5mm off the top and bottom bezels, plus the edge-to-edge screen like Sony have already introduced into some of their mid-range phones.

Shame we only get one of the three colours also no mention of where any of the networks will offer it on contract.

The S7 Edge comes with a free Gear VR headset on certain plans on 2 Degrees if that's of interest to anyone.

To be honest the chances of it happening probably do not equate to the chances of my dying on the road next time I get in the car so yes, I might have.

Not now, obviously!

Hope this is not the case. Will be gutted if VF don't offer it.

"The XZ hits the Kiwi market tomorrow, and will be available through Sony stores and Spark."

Thanks.  Our Vizsla was our first born.  She died from old age a few years ago now and I have never been as fit as when we had her.

Even if VF doesn't offer the XZ, it may still cover their network.  We will just have to wait and see.  I have a Z1 Compact currently which was great value for money at the time.  I have been quite impressed with it.

Not to thread-jack, but my Viz - now 9 - is asleep on the sofa as I write. Fabulous dogs if you're the right owner for one.

Geektastic: Sony XZ is listed on Spark this morning but not VF :-(

Sony flagships have been exclusive to Spark since the Z3 - which, as a VF customer, is why I never upgraded from my favourite Z2 to a Z3 or Z5 (which I would have, if I could have with VF).

Apparently, Sony NZ aren't too interested in selling phones.

That's mad.

Not that I have a massive brand preference other than the fact that Spark's roaming is woeful compared to VF's and I travel often. In fact as a Farmlands shareholder I can get discounted Spark plans. But the roaming...

I have no idea what commercial incentive Spark have offered Sony NZ, but basically Sony NZ have effectively cut in half (if not more) their potential sales volumes by not extending to VF.
