Looks so much better than the default one.

LauncherPro+ (although same look easily achievable with ADW or Go Launchers)

Beautiful widgets with transparent background for the Clock/Weather widget

BattStatt Pro for battery widget

WP7 dock icons, not sure where I got them, but easy to obtain (and I think both ADW and Go have them available via downloadable theme from the Market).

EDIT: Oh, and the live wallpaper is from Ubermusic (music player, comes with an album art live wallpaper where your album arts populate the screen and flip over randomly to reveal other album arts).

Thanks for that! Ended up going with the Go Launcher.
Also followed your instructions using the ChainFire method to root my Note. Worked perfectly.

i am thinking of getting one of these coming from the sgs 2 ,is there any software that can re size the keyboard for one hand txting ? i really have to look at one in person before i got buy this, just too see how big it really is ...etc

no reply :( ...is there any other issues with this device yet , i got to see one today at parallel imported in Hamilton today must say i was impressed ..... i heard the display is not gorilla glass will it scratch easily ?

I have had mine a couple of weeks now and there are no scratches on the screen. I am not using a screen protector and it usually just ends up in my pocket. I am careful to not put keys or coins in the same pocket as the phone.

I've had mine for a few days now. The screen seemed huge when I got it but now is normal and my iPhone 4 looks tiny now when I play with it. Also is very fast for browsing with the duel 1.4 CPUs and I can even browse large pdf magazines quite easily with this power it zooms in smoothly unlike my 4 and the large screen is a joy to read.

Battery life is solid for such a power hungry screen it lasts me more than a day of heavy use.

I found a case locally which covers the back but not front and am without screen protector as I think they reduce the clarity. No scratches yet.

No scratches here, no screen protector but careful that nothing else goes in the same pocket as the Note. There are lots of little issues with this phone, like all phones - I detail them reasonably exhaustively in my review.

Good thought about the keyboard scaling for one handed-use - will check out some keyboards that allow different layouts and see whether any can accommodate that.

i have seen couple of keyboards that can be resized just forgotten which ones they are .don't know how good the rezieing/works is either......

Forgive my ignorance but what is the advantage of rooting your phone? Is it the same as jailbreaking an Iphone?

Right, I have had my note for close on two weeks now and so far I am very impressed. All the reviews have been pretty spot on - the screen is amazingly good for browsing the net, and it runs lightening fast.

The only two downsides for me are:

1) No notification light, coming from an HTC device previously. I know there is an App 'NoLED' to cover this.
2) Linking duplicate contacts isn't as easy as it is on the HTC. Quite clunky.

The only two downsides for me are:

1) No notification light, coming from an HTC device previously. I know there is an App 'NoLED' to cover this.
2) Linking duplicate contacts isn't as easy as it is on the HTC. Quite clunky.

Hey NZTechFreak, sure have read your reviews, and I am a huge fan, you should know that by now :P

I think your review was quite accurate. Battery life is certainly top notch. Even with 45% left, I could still squeeze in another day of moderate usage - now that's impressive.

I am still getting used to the way the phone is unlocked. Not as fluid as HTC. Your thoughts?

My thoughts are: get Widgetlocker. Hand's down the best unlock app out there, and better than all of the stock and manufacturer ones too (it has versions of nearly all of them, but usually with improvements for example the ICS one has four shortcuts configurable).

I would also like to add how impressed I have been with my Note. I have had for amost a month now and I love the large screen and battery life. It still fits easily in my pockets despite the size and I even managed to take a call with one hand while I was walking with a coffee in the other -not easily but was doable.

Is very nice for ebook reading too.

Best part is the looks on peoples faces when I pull it out :D
