Have anyone experienced this?
Btw, I'm on the Galaxy sii, the other phone is a Nokia 3120c and we are on Telecom XT. We had almost full signal when this was happening. Calls dropping and 'chopped' words was the very reason we swapped from Vodafone to Telecomin the first place.

Can it be any settings on the Galaxy sii??

Are you running stock firmware? Changed any modem-related settings?

Bought from Expert Infotec. Haven't changed any modem settings.
Baseband KE7, Kernel version KE7, Build number KE7

Is this happening in a variety of locations, or is it only one specific location? You mention having problems on Vodafone as well, so is it related to the topography of your location? If you live in a hilly area you may be getting affected by signal bounce.

It's been in a variety of locations, but at least one of us have been driving. Compared to Vodafone this is a lot worse.

I just got my Galaxy s II and signed up for Telecom XT Smartphone plan.

Have anyone experienced that webpages (or any data content) is not loading?

Everything can work fine for a couple of hours and then without changing any setting, I am unable to use any data (can still receive texts and calls). This can last maybe an hour or so and then it will work fine again...

Is this happening while you're using the XT network or Wifi?
I have that problem with wifi, need to switch it off and then back on again to get it to work. It's a known bug that 2.3.4 will hopefully fix.

On another note, does anyone know if the Telecom XT network uses Fast Dormancy?

I've seen a similar issue to this elsewhere (earlier in this thread perhaps?) the finger seemed to be pointed at a faulty device. My SGS2 works perfectly on XT.

Which brings me to my next request, if anyone out there has a very recent XT network Android device who can pull the /system/CSC/ folder off it and upload it in a .ZIP it'd be appreciated so that I can see if there's anything beneficial to putting together "native" XT support on the SGS2.

Have scanned through this thread and couldn't find anyone with the same problem. Btw, I have not changed any network or APN setting and the phone was bought from Expert Infotech if that matters

Mine is from expert infotech as well, and running on 2 degress; I haven't noticed any trouble with mobile internet (but I seldom use it extensively, check email, a web page or two thats all).

Mine is running the latest cognition ROM and the ddke2 modem.

K1000716: I have been using my phone with the wifi turned off today and have not yet experienced any problems with connecting to the internet via XT. Not sure if this relates to you comment on known bug on 2.3.3 having to switch wifi on and off?

Data/internet connection problems are back today...

ooook ......weird.

ever since my dock arrived, after charging it for a bit ... the phone has got MEGA hot around the cam lens area ..

and weirdly the highest battry sucking app currently is the andriod market, at 38% ..wtf ??

this right after a reboot with out even launching the market.

ive forced stop the app , and cleared data from it ....will see what happens.

batt is draining fast too.

I've also noticed my phone gets pretty toasty when dock charging (much more so than when its plugged directly to the charger). A dock charge also seems to take 1.5x as long, seems strange... I would have thought the dock should be 'straight through'.

More related to general android but I'll post it here anyway. I've almost finished porting my music collection from Ipod to my SGSII. A couple of issues I had were:

After transferring my music collection to my phone I had a lot of missing album art (still haven't figured out why). 'Cover Art Downloader', free from the marketplace is great for finding missing art. Most media players Winamp, PowerAmp etc have their own built in cover art downloader these days but I found CAD much quicker in dealing with large numbers of files.

For some reason android seems to struggle with parsing the id3 tag info of .aac and .m4a files which results in lots of unknown artists. 'MediaFix' free from the marketplace is a 1 click fix.

Is there a way to transfer all my music from phone storage to SD card? I'm guessing cut/paste will break all of the album art again.

Hi all,

My phone CSC is KE2 (DBT). I think I read somewhere that this indicates it is German and therefore I need to wait for the German KE7 update? Is there anyway to change this to the UK or NZ or wherever so I can get the update quicker? :)

yeh that seems really odd ..and mine was doing that last night too... but looks like it was due to the run away market app

Has anybody experienced a yellowish / greenish tint all over the screen at any time while waking up the phone? Mine just did that couple of days ago and it freaked me out!!!

EDIT : It goes away after a few seconds if you press the power button to put the screen to sleep and wake it up again. Still enough to put your heart in your mouth!!

@Debin : Mind you its just one-off though... Never happened to me either, not before that once or after... but apparently I am not the only one!

On another note, anybody know how to add more FREE fonts to the already available ones? like an apk or something ?

Hello guys,

Looking to order SGS2 from www.unlocked-mobiles.com who are based in the UK.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with these guys before?

Sorry if this question had been asked already elsewhere.

They are about 4 pounds cheaper than Clove and shipping is cheaper via royal mail to NZ (20 pounds).

Had a funny thing happen last night when I went to charge via the wallcharger - plugged it in, and after about 20 seconds, got a message saying (something like) "Charging has stopped due to temperature being too high or too low"

Has anyone else seen this? I had been using GPS while out for a walk about 20 minutes previously, and the back of the phone did feel a little warm?

A couple of times, but neither time was the battery actually warm. It doesn't last long and causes no harm. Just a random fault of some sort.

I got my Galaxy S II from expert infotech on Wednesday and so far it has been ausome, the main thing I want in a phone is a reasonable camera which so far have been perfect.

On top of that the speed has been alot better than the Galaxy S so I am impressed so far.

Good having a way better phone than all the Iphone people at work.

The only problem I am having is that the phone won't connect to our exchange active sync email, when the Iphones do.

It works for Iphones and if I download another email app from the market it will work no problem which is a pain.
