Looks like Huawei is trying to find creative ways around the GMS problem, by re-releasing the P30 Pro as the P30 Pro New Edition. Looks to be pretty much the same, but launching with Android 10 and 8GB RAM/256GB UFS 3.0 storage.

I got an alert on my new phone today to upgrade to OS 10. I'm still on 9 something at the moment.
Should I do it? I am always wary of upgrading operating systems.

What are the advantages?

Do it. It's stable, more efficient and more secure than previous versions.

One thing I have to say as a new Android user - Swiftkey absolutely SUCKS. It's the worst keyboard I've ever used. Prediction is horrible.
I stumbled through trying to write a TXT with it this morning.
I used to have the Swype keyboard on my iPhone, and GBoard on my iPad and both were great.

I had to download GBoard again - MUCH better.

I like Swiftkey - it learns from your typing over time.

I bought one of these cases for my new phone -

CASE

It has an inner case that is black, and quite similar to the free case in shape that comes with the phone, and a wallet outer part than the inner case magnetically attaches to.

My question is, if I ever get a wireless charger, will the case (being that it is sort of magnetic) interfere with the charging?

pps, and being that the actual Huawei wireless chargers are sold out, what is the next best option?

Has anybody else's Chrome app been freezing lately on their P30 Pro? I've got the latest Chrome app for Android, and am on EMUI version 10.0.0. I find in order to unfreeze it, I have to switch to another app then switch back to it.

Sorry - I don't use Chrome so I haven't been affected by this. I use Opera, if that's any help 😅

<- don't ask me where I am - I haven't a clue: its a tech thing ;)

hi, using the same version as you (10.0.0), using Chrome version 81.0.4044.138 without any issues. Not sure if that helps. Have you tried a restart, sometimes that helps clear the memory (or a force stop of Chrome)

Hmm, yeah, I'll try removing everything and installing again.

Thanks.

Hey all, Ive recently moved from Spark to 2degrees. Is the 2d firmware available to be applied anywhere? Or do I even really need to? The phone works, though Wifi calling at home was a problem and wondering if the 2d firmware might solve that.

@nzkc Is Wi-Fi calling enabled in the menu of the handset?

Yep. Even shows in the status bar when I drag it down. Issue is when I'm called and answer it doesn't answer. It's like I reject the call.

It's not a biggie to me. More a nice to have tbh.

@nzkc First step hard reset the handset

That is something I'd be keen to avoid. Setting up all the MFA apps again is a PITA! (Off topic: Why dont more allow us to back up their config?)

I do realise if I were to flash the firmware I'd be doing that too. At least Id be able to have more certainty it'd fix my issue.
