Handle9: Is anyone having problems with Android auto. Until the last couple of days it's worked fine but now whenever I plug into the car it crashes the phone and seems to go through a very short reboot.

Emui 10.1.0.192

I found a solution to this. Downgrading chrome fixed it immediately.

I personally don't use Chrome at all - Opera is so much better on Android.

That doesn't mean you can delete it. I mostly use opera as well.

No but suddenly my Bluetooth in-car (2017 Rav) keeps finding the phone but the P30 when I go into Bluetooth settings is not connecting call audio or media audio just contact sharing and message access. This means the car sees the phone but I have to manually start a call then the car will connect to it. Driving me nuts. Have turned back on manually, unpaired, rebooted nothing will fix. Suspect some behind the scenes update to phone.

pzkpfwnz:

Sorry, if not directly related to P30 - but wondering, if you had to replace your P30 Pro with a new device is there anything on the market you'd consider upgrading too, Google services for a few things are important to me so P40 and Mate series are really not a viable option, I appreciate the good camera and wireless charging as important need to have features as well..

Ive had my P30 pro now for nearly 2 years.

Im seriously considering a switch back the the Samsung S21 Ultra. Photography is my main interest-thats why I switched from samsung Note 9 to the P30 Pro in the 1st place.

I just need to research the camera comparisons between the 2.

Im not inclined to go the the P40 as Im pretty tied up with the google eco system

Literally what I just did on Sunday gone, now have S21 Ultra and am not disappointed.  Great device, and a valid upgrade from the P30 Pro (Macro is amazing) that I have been waiting for and that with updates should get better.  I did prefer the weight of P30 Pro over the S21 Ultra if I had to moan a bit, its a hefty unit, but getting used to it.

My P30 pro is nearly 2 years in my possession.

Lately Ive had problems plugging in the power cable in. Not a nice Click like it used to. Easy comes out if the phone is touched on the bench. Even worse when on my Can Am Spyder using the phone for navigation even one slight road bump the cable would fall out.

Did some research and there is an easy solution.

The phone lives in my trouser pocket most of the time. So you can probably guess what happens.

Yes a lot of dust and lint gets into the charging port. Plug the cable in and you compress this into the port.

Easy soln is using a needle and perhaps a torch to check.

Problem solved.

Good advice had the exact same problem with my p30 pro, got a wooden skewer and cleaned it out as I was worried about shorting the port out(don't know if thats a valid concern or not) got quite alot out of lint out of the port as the charger falls out all the time. Not perfect but it's better. It's a real pain in the car when using android auto via cable.

As you probably know, EMUI 11 is based on Android 10. I don't know if this link is correct but it says there's an Android 11 version coming. I think the P30 series are eligible for one more major update right? Anyone know if this Android 11 version of EMUI 11 is real and if it will come to P30 series?

The article seems to indicate there are two EMUI 11 - one based on Android 10 (with Google services) and another based on Android 11 (without Google services, which seem to be the one they talk about the rest of the article).

I'd rather have the Google services baked in for now.

Just got he EMUI 11 update on Vodafone P30 (Vodafone NZ 11.0.0.3(CT)) - Android 10.

Nothing obviously different. A bit jerky opening apps and navigating home screens to begin with but may have still been updating apps. Seems OK after 5 minutes or so.

So, for those who have downloaded EMUI 11... How is it?

Should I upgrade?

Same same. Just minor enhancements.
