Using the 2degrees S3 on Telecom. Can't even see the secri_fd interface in BBS so I'm assuming my phone hasn't experienced any wakelocks over the past 24 hours.

Unless you've been on WiFi the whole time, in which case you will have none regardless of anything else.

Are you looking under Partial Wakelocks or Kernel Wakelocks?

Oops didn't realise wakelocks were to do with being on 3G. Excuse my noobness.

Carry on as you were.

Wakelocks occur whether or not you are on 3G, however secril_fd-interface wakelocks are caused by Fast Dormancy which is related to 3G connectivity.

I see. Got about 10 minutes of the secri_fd-interface wakelock today while I was in town for a couple of hours and using 3G.

I might just move to 2degrees if it is a real problem :P

Here are some screenshots from my 2D S3, running on 2D...

The secri_fd-interface wakelock is quite apparent

this is a slap in the face!

That looks like quite a high number of wakelocks caused by FD, and 2Degrees are supposed to support FD. This puzzle keeps getting more complicated ><

Just been playing with Usb Otg on my S3, Have successfully plugged a usb flash drive, a keyboard and a mouse in inidvidually and all are working, any suggestions on other items one could plug in to try out?

I've also plugged all three into a powered usb hub and had keyboard, mouse and usb hdd all working together.
Very cool, next thing is to find an mhl to hdmi adapter and see if that works while doing usb otg.
Has anyone tried that out yet?

I haven't because they are meant to be mutually-exclusive connections at the hardware level, but I read a report that Samsung changed the pin layout in the S3 MHL connection to facilitate using both at the same time so I need to check that out.

Sounds good, I've got my OTG cable winging its way here as I type this.

I presume it will involve a y splitter of some form, one for usb otg and the other for mhl out. It will be very cool if that works, I've just been testing out rdp on my phone to my pc and being able to run video out on my phone to a larger screen would pretty much replace the use of a desktop at home as far as work is concerned.
I've yet to test the vpn connection built in to android, I'm guessing that will be straight forward though.

I am rooting the wifes S3, but after following the AndroidNZ guide it is stuck after running Odin, hasnt rebooted and hasnt gone past recovery.img. I see others have had the same issue om AndroidNZ. Is it safe to remove it and try again? Been 10 minutes so far.

Exactly how far along did it get? Can you upload a screen shot of the Odin window for us?
