Info on the Amazon.com referred to the global version being the "UK version", so I've placed an order for the 8GB version on Amazon.co.uk. Including a Gel case, screen protector, and a couple of stylus pens comes to $278 delivered. Estimated delivery 17-19th Dec, using the cheaper of the two shipping options.

I've got a Defy at the moment with 2GB memory, and I have 740MB free, so no need to get the 16GB version :)

Thanks for your help Timmmay

Happy to help, hope what I told you was correct! Should be fine. I didn't order accessories in case they delayed the phone, and since it has a replacable back and the case is meant to protect the screen I didn't think it was required. Can always add them later anyway. I never use screen protectors on phones with gorilla glass, it seems unnecessary and it makes the device less responsive.

I have more than 3GB of apps and data from memory, the rest is media.

I ordered from Clove since they are shipping the 8GB right away and I wanted it before Christmas as a gift for my father in law. It has shipped already so hopefully will see it in the next week or so :) it ended up costing $309 which isn't too bad.

Mine (or my partners really) is on the way from the UK now, it should be here in 2-4 days express shipping. They have one of the 8GB in stock, but more coming.

My 16GB order shipped on the 4th, hoping to get it this week. Just used standard shipping. Noticed they have the flip covers and ordered one of those now too.

Where'd you buy the 16GB from?

From Clove, and my mistake it arrived today. Very nice phone for price, particularly impressed with the screen.

Will the one from Clove work alright on Vodafone? Its 3G frequencies seem to be different to the global version.

My 8GB Moto G arrived rural delivery today (ordered on the 4th from Amazon UK).

It is WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100, GSM 850/900/1800/1900, so compatible both with XT and with Vodafone Extended 3G.

Unfortunately I'm cash strapped leading into Xmas so am probably going to have to put it on Trademe without using it. Looks very nice though.

My 16GB from Amazon turned up yesterday. It seems like a solid unit, good quality, not as flashy as the S4 or HTC One but a nice little phone that looks good. The size is nice, fits in the hand well. I charged it and wrapped it up for my fiance. I said little, I think its screen is the same size as the iphone.
