I am so pissed off with Telecom with this delay crap without telling us why.

Went to Noel Leemings today asked about the price of the Vodafone version using my student card.

Comes down to $997.00 thats $103 off instead of my current $880.00 Telecom pricing.

If Telecom doesnt sort itself tomorrow Im just going to spend extra $100.00 and buy from Vodafone, cause you suck Telecom.

I am using a vodafone sim right now anyway, and 4G is coming out end of this month in CHCH, so I might as well utilise the 4G capability

Much bloatware with your Vodafone handset? Any Vodafone logo at start up?

I don't mind waiting as long as there's communication. This, Telecom has failed on, big time.

No bloat at all. Not even a Vodafone app.

Not sure where I read it but I am pretty sure at the very least the first few batchs of HTC Ones from Vodafone are completely standard

Deanzo: Well I've just been told (and I trust who told me this)

Brightstar have them and they are ready to go.

But

Telecom has put a hold on them from shipping the phones, no idea why, or when Telecom will give them the green light to send them.

If true, this is getting farcical.

Should have known anything with Telecom attached is a mess.

Just been down to Riccarton Mall to have a play with an HTC One in my own hand, both of the VF stores in the Mall have a working display (so I got to play twice). Just for giggles I went into the Telecom Store and asked the very pregnant lady that served me if they had the HTC One, to the reply "that phone hasn't been released in New Zealand yet" I then asked was she saying the two phones I had just been playing with at the VF stores not the HTC One ? She then tried to act dumb and that she didn't know what kind of phones VF sells........ Sure!

heavenlywild: Greaver,

Have you hassled NL today?

Just spoke to Noel Leemings support

It is not due for release on Telecom due to unforeseen errors with the telecom network

Don't tell me it has the wrong radio? Surely that would have affected Brad etc when testing them

Bloody Telecom.

I criticised Telecom for blocking LTE, because it risks introducing bugs and it was un-necessary.

It now looks like a distinct possibility that Telecom's decision to block it has indeed led to 'unforseen errors'.

Interestingly, Vodafone units are having no problems with LTE (except limited availability), and generally performing without problems and were 'on time'.

I have changed my order to Vodafone, the other day.

Sad, and it'll cost me $100, but Telecom has disgraced itself.

My HTC One has died. Cry

I was writing the next part of my blog and went to try something on the phone, there was no response to the unlock button  It was charged this morning and had plenty of battery life earlier this evening.  I tried plugging that charger in anyway but that made no difference and there was no charging led.

I've also tried holding the On/Off/Lock button while holdng the volume down button no go there either.

More googling to see what other options there may be.

Let's not all get carried away jumping to conclusions. I wouldn't take the word of NL support on this.

Also as I said earlier the way LTE is blocked is not a 'mod' and it isn't Telecom that does the blocking. All that stuff is done by HTC.

Try the power button for about 30sec.

Noooooo!

Have you tried a hard reset?
I found these instructions:

* How to factory reset your HTC One
Tap Settings.
Tap Backup & reset.
Select Reset phone.
You will see a warning – read it and tap Erase all data.
That's it. Your HTC One will now reboot.

or

* To reset your HTC One through its hardwarebuttons:
Turn off your HTC One
With the device turned off, press and hold the Volume Down key.
While both the Volume Down key held down, press the Power button.
As soon as the phone boots up, release all buttons.
Scroll and select wipe data/factory reset by pressing the Volume Down key. Then press the Power button.
Next, select Yes – delete all user data by pressing the Volume Down key. Then press the Power button.
As soon as the wipe has been completed, press the Volume Down key to scroll to and select wipe cache.
Next, press the Power button to select reboot system now.
Your device will reboot into factory condition.

Good luck! I hope you get it up and running again.

Edit: XDA and other sources also seem to say just holding power for 10-15 seconds forces a re-boot.

You should be able to get Noel Leemings to discount it a bit for you. Offer to flash some leg (Mine were hairy and only worth $100 off).

Brad is right in regards to Noels support, the guy I spoke to definitely sounded genuine but he could easily have been told that by someone higher up looking to push away the blame, or someone less informed.

The main issues at hand is that there is no information available, therefore any conclusion given by someone expected to know something means a lot more, again Telecom only had to make a statement and none of this would be relevant.

Going into Noels about 10am, will have them ring Brightstar while I am there and request an update, I am not so silly as to drop another $200 (2 phones) just to take my business from Telecom if there is a near date set in the morning, but if not I will gladly pay the extra on the spot and walk away with my phones.

Anyone know if you get a sim with Vodafone HTC Ones?

I picked up two sim cards from Telecom the other day in anticipation and the receipt has disappeared from my wallet so paying for two Vodafone sims on top will really hurt -_-

Also if I do indeed have to buy Vodafone sims are they $5 like Telecom and 2 Degrees or are they still like $30?
