The thing i find funny is that they say "turn them off, don't use them and hold on to it for now" but who has a spare phone lying around at home (apart from geeks and phone mad people).  Yet you still expected to pay the bill when you don't have a device you can use through no fault of our own.

Me and friend bought the dual SIM version of Note 7 (Singapore model it seems) from supero.co.nz

I have waited far too long now to even get the first Note 7 version replaced. I have emailed them and asked for a refund on both handsets.

Do whatever you want to do man.

So they have not replaced them yet?

So if I drop this device off and get a refund (which is going to be hella hard to get a settlement on because of how my account credits and stuff were put together, then I am really struggling for ideas on another suitable device.

I love my Samsung for it's excellent camera, good size screen, but above all, it's physical home button.

I quite liked the Xperia 5 premium though.

Wondering if I let the dust settle and see what the end result will be (if they are going to re-release or just abandon).

If they are able to determine the fault and a good quality check to ensure my device doesn't have said fault, I am tempted to keep it.

Have the carriers fronted the media with what is exactly going on with the note 7, a bit poor if not @jasonparis your time in the spotlight.

Missing my note 7. Handed it in for replacement then came overseas (still here). The other half picked it up for me the other day from Albany. Not even fresh out of the box (although suspect he would have updated software etc and set it up the way he likes it ;-) and now learn it has to go back,

While I appreciate the J5 as a replacement, it just didn't have enough guts for the day to day use I go through and the apps I use. I have this phone on the interest free plan so in theory am paying for a phone I can't use. I luckily got to borrow a note 5 as I had been using the Note 5 previously but sold it the day I got my Note7. I feel really disappointed but hey, safety is paramount is it not?

Not sure what awaits me on my return to NZ but suspect I will upgrade (or downgrade as the case may be) to the S7 Edge.

I am in the same boat. The most difficult thing for me is that I use the S-pen most afternoons when I am out and about. So there are no real alternatives in terms of useable choice to keep me going for the next 10 months or so. TradeMe might be an option for a second hand Note 5 or 4 in the interim.

The S7 Edge (arguably the best currently working smartphone of 2016) is very nice. But again trying to compare the two, it feels like a step backwards with the display lacking in comparison.

I am beginning to feel that a cheap but well spec'd Droid of some sort might be the best way to see me through the next 7 - 9 months or so. No big outlay and it can be written off as an "inconvenience". In the meantime, I keep my Note7 until such time as I have to make a decision, based on whatever timeframe Spark and Samsung NZ agree on and/or demand. You never know, I might even be so lucky as to get a full replacement refund on the next Note model rather than be forced to change phone quickly because internet media suggests that's what I have to do.

I think patience could be a virtue here. In the meantime, the Note 7 will be turned off for a hard earned rest.

On another matter that influences me to sit calmly and wait ....... nobody appears to know what the problem is at this stage. For all I know, it could be related to the chip, or even a downloadable programme that manages the battery and creating a conflict. There are plenty of those around - free, all of them and we know how people love free. So, until we know just exactly what the common denominator is, I am convinced that the best option is to wait and see what happens.

I do like sony phones but there latest range is really overpriced for what it is.

I don't know how big the screen needs to be for the phone you are looking for but I have found the oneplus 3 good.  PB tech has them, the dash charger rocks but if you want the car charger you will need to order from the UK and youshop it.

I think they have just packed to much into it this time around, when you look at the size difference between the s7 edge and note it really isn't that much, yet they put iris scanner and a pen in it.  I know my s7 edge gets warm when it was updating apps etc so I would expect the note (as it has most of the same stuff as the s7 edge) would be getting rather warm as well.  Who knows it could be the usb c port that is issue and feeding to much juice into the device, samsung is great at stuffing up things that should be standard (i.e. their LED notifications lights that don't work like every other android device out there).

It is, but i can't really tell the difference between my devices.  Go and have a look at one at PBtech if you have 1 around you. Always best to have a look around. :)

I use the oneplus3 more than i use the s7 edge.
